Covington will travel to Millington on Sept. 3. This is the opening of the Region 7-3A schedule for both teams. These teams last met in 2016, with the Chargers winning 21-20. Being in the same region will put some extra emphasis on this matchup.

Millington comes in at 0-2, having lost this week to Munford by 20. The Chargers (2-0) opened with Munford and came away with a 41-8 victory. If you believe in comparative scores, the Chargers would be a huge favorite.  Any thoughts on how this one will play out?

Just an update from another thread. A Millington poster said that tickets for this game are only available online thru GoFan.co.

I just saw this in the Jackson Sun.  Is this correct?

Games canceled for COVID-19

Covington at Millington *

Apparently Millington has Covid issues.

edit to add: just saw a clip from a notice Millington sent out saying the game is cancelled.

Who would play at home if they did? Both were road games that were cancelled.

I'm sure they could work it out.  The Gibson Co. area already has a big game (Milan-So. Gibson) on the schedule for Friday night.  A Peabody trip to Covington might be better.  I would think Coach Kirby (Covington) would be willing to travel though.
