Here are the 3A frontrunners:

Frontrunner

Caden Buckles, Alcoa: Buckles has thrown for 737 yards with 14 total touchdowns for the top-ranked Tornadoes. He's also rushed for 177 yards.

In the hunt

Ranen Blackburn, White House: Blackburn has 1,360 total yards — 673 passing and 687 rushing — and has nine rushing TDs and six passing.

Jamarion Dowell, Covington: Dowell is rushing for nearly 200 yards a game and has 10 touchdowns.

Keaton Harig, Loudon: Harig is 110-of-149 passing for 1,737 yards with 24 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He also has 84 carries for 509 yards and eight TDs.

As a Covington fan, I would like to see Jamarion Dowell get this award. Still, he's a junior, so he can have a shot at it both this year and next year.

The Blackburn kid from White House should definatly win Mr. Football for 3A. Just look at his numbers. The kid has been the best player on the field all year. People know what he will do and he still manages to break out for big gains.

I’m biased, but he’d definitely get my vote.  Not just because of his numbers, but it’s when he makes his big plays for me.  Seems like every time we need something he steps up and answers the call even though everyone knows he’s getting it.
