Haven't talked to him in a while, but he did retire from teaching and is coaching as a retired educator.  He would be a great choice if either he and/or Fulton decided to go in a non teacher direction to fill that position.  

Good guy, solid football coach with a great resume and track record.  

He is also a "safe" temporary solution.  They wouldn't have to scramble to find someone...they could groom someone.

Don't disagree.  Mac is still young enough to coach a few years and then have a coordinator ready to take over.  

Like I said, good hire.  Mac is a great person and solid and proved football coach.
