Realize, too, that the winner at the end of the season is the one with the MOST correct picks, not necessarily the highest percentage right. So, skipping a game and not picking it just keeps you from having a chance at one more win.

I won with 190 Picks, I think don't think I missed a game, 151 correct, 39 incorrect, 79.47%.

I noticed some skipping games getting a better % and placement.

I'm going to try my best, it's tough! We have some great pickers here!

Picks for Week Two are now posted. Toughest week for me to pick the games to be listed. Lots of 1-0 teams. Normally I've used the previous year's records but that added a lot of 0-1 vs 1-0 teams. So, I just picked what I hope are the best matchups. Each week it gets easier because the win percentages are more reliable..

Thanks.   I was wondering why Peabody @ Westview wasn't listed.

Tough first week.

Breakdown:  14-10 overall.

Dawg picks:  0-1 (Summit)

Thursday and Sat games:   1-4

Games decided <8:    0-3

Placement: 79

Analysis:  Not enough luck.  Could have flipped a coin and done as well.  Now got ground to make up.

This week 2 dawgs.

I took a beating last week! I've got 3 dawgs this week.

2nd week.

Breakdown:

18-4 wk

Dawgs 1-1 (Baylor-Franklin Co)

Thursday 3-0

Games decided <8 = 4-1

Placement : 32  (+47)

Games back: 4  (+1)

Analysis:  Had a better week.  Moved up several spots and gained 1 on the leader.

Only one dawg this week.  One is a 50 center.  A couple others I could have flipped a coin on and felt just as good about those picks.

Good Luck

3rd week results

Week: 11-4

Thursday & Saturday: 2-1

Dawgs: 0-1 (CAK)       50%: 1-0 (Germantown)

Games <8:   2-1

Placement: 30 (+2)

Games back: 5  (-1)

Analysis:  Not a bad week but just not good enough.  Went out on a limb with CAK and the limb snapped.  I climbed 2 spots overall but fell back another game to the leader.

This week I've got 3 dawgs.

Good Luck.

@CoachT,   any specific reason as to why the McMinn Co @ Bradley Central game, that has been rescheduled for tonight, was removed from the Big Ones contest?

I was just coming here to post this: any games moved up after the contest begins will be removed from the contest. This has caused problems too many times over the years, especially for members who like to wait until Friday to pick Friday's games.

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
