Wayne Co whether they are mad or not about the loss to Perry CO better be ready for CA. I think Wayne Co. will win, but CA is much better than people thought. They have a good post in Brett Woodard, who also shoot the trifector. But CA guards never stop shooting the three. Stop the 3 ball and Wayne Co. will win.

I've heard so many different things on CA I don't know what to believe. I feel pretty confident we will beat them, but we need to do a better job of rebounding or we will make it harder than it has to be. I know probably 20 of Perry County's 59 points were on 2nd and 3rd shot opportunities. The Cats need to find someone to box out every shot. We learn from our mistakes though so the boys from the boro will be in top form tomorrow night.

Well JoeMama I guess hoping wasn't good enough. Wayne Co came out convincingly with a 72-56 victory over the Academy. You can tell CA is a "baseball" school yet they got after it every minute so hats off for the effort Bulldogs. I don't have the individual stats but guessing I would say Tyler York was the high scorer with close to 25. J.D."Iwishiwaslikemycuzin"Byrd following closely behind that. Big shout out to my posts for shining glass all night. You guys box out like that against Perry Co and it may have a different ending....Keep it up. Good luck to the Cats against Summertown. This will probably be the only one I don't attend. Bring the fight to em' guys. Hate to miss it but I'll be back in town by the Friday game.

Go Cats!

    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
    • He was pretty darn good for a freshman, but he will have a hard time seeing the field at Oakland for a good while, I’m afraid.
