Yeah, I hope it did. Our qb is young and he needed that. Hope you guys make it safe back to Decatur!

Good to see Basin score a lot of points in the second half. That will hopefully give them confidence going forward.  Remember - baby steps.

For some Meigs Countians tonight was their 3rd trip to Basin since Tuesday.  BTW, I was talking to the gentleman who's the volleyball head coach (in name) Tuesday, and he said he played for Mullinax.  He and his wife are sweet people!

Yeah, what bothers me is this should’ve been Atleast a three win season or more. We have playmakers enough to win football games especially with how weak the schedule is minus you guys, south pitt, and north Cobb Christian. Also I’ll tip my hat to whitwell and polk they’re both tough teams also. Yeah that is a haul for you fans, I can only imagine. Yes, our volleyball coach is a great guy I’ve known him my entire life and he coached me in middle school basketball and football. He has some great stories.

I have read lots of comments  on here and felt as if i need to say this .   i have watch copper basin football for years it seams like the last 3 to 5 years the quality of the program has been going down hill. That has affected the numbers of players that have came out. i do not know what has happened internally but thats what i see . i have watched a couple games this year  they have been out manned but kids have not quit playing like past years

A lot has happened internally for those matters I’m not going to speak about on here you’ll have to find out for yourself. I will say the current state is the worst shape the program has ever been in. Last year was a rough year but not even close compared to this year. I love the kids but it’s hard to watch.

It’s bad. 2019 and 2020 was pretty good but last year all the kids that reflected previous times in the Basin amounted to 2 or 3 and they’re all gone now. Along with that literally every coach of previous years has been removed from the program except the head and now the staff is full of little league coaches which shows. The little league coaches and the boys are trying their best but it doesn’t amount to much.

I believe the Cougs will get their first win against North Georgia. Hopefully we will find that to be the case when they play.

I believe these coaches aren’t bad they just need time. The kids just have to listen because there is a lot of selfishness on the field. I think they could use more community support.

Bold take bud. With all these new accounts I dont know what to think. Can’t have the Pan tipping over on the T like it is on the field.

    • Understand the young thing.  I was one of those.  Barely 17 when I graduated from high school and started college.  But redshirting for athletic purposes isn't doing them any favors, in my opinion.  Life isn't always going to be fair.

    • The Girls Basketball team I am a part of played for a gold ball this season. One of the biggest differences in the sports is that there is no field prep/maintenance in basketball.   Our baseball is successful and play 30 games in the regular season as well. All of the teams dedicate A LOT of time in preparing for their next opponent.
    • Im pretty excited about the new rules that NFHS voted to adopt. Does anyone know if this will take place in Tennessee starting this year? I think I heard/read somewhere that the TSSAA bi-laws say they have to mirror what the NFHS does, and when the NFHS offered the current weight classes as options, TSSAA didn’t adopt them until NFHS made them official. Did NFHS make these changes official starting next season or will it be similar to the weight classes where TSSAA doesn’t change what they are doing until it is  an officially official part of the NFHS rule book? It’ll be interesting to see if it is rolled out for the new TSSAA Middle School season and I saw a post where the youth wrestling in TN was going to vote on adopting it as well.  I’ll pray for all the youth coaches that will have to shoulder the confusion from all those crazy #### parents who already think they know the rules more than everyone else  . Imagine the first time their kid is taken down and a 3 goes up on the scoreboard or their kid gets pinned with only one point of contact in the cylinder. Their heads might explode. i kid, I kid. Sort of. I’m surprised ride time was brought down with all the other changes. I know some argue that it promotes stalling on top, but its been an official scoring method in college forever, so I figure it must be doing something right. Do any of you think that’ll ever be implemented?
