Fairview won't have the best athlete the best running back the best qb and possibly the best lineman they have had in the past decade next year. They will take a step back.

SYCAMORE WILL WIN THE REGION!

They didn't have those players last year either. Or the year before that or even the year before that. The community still produces the talent but it's all at BA, Ensworth,  CPA, MBA by the time 9th grade rolls around.

Sycamore could very well win the region though I won't disagree. Good luck.

Fairview reminds me a lot of what Page use to be ....the country school in Wilco Land. As we all know growth knocked Page into big time football with huge increases in population. The same thing is happening right now in Fairview. With the right leadership and vision Fairview could be a sleeping giant. Population is fixing to explode big time in Fairview.

Players are lost all over Wilco Land to private schools...it's just a sign of the times. You got to put your athletic program on the front porch to compete with the private schools in the Middle Tenn. area.

100% correct.  My biggest question, that I suppose has no right or wrong answer - how does any school keep that talent home?  Someone commented on here it is an issue all over WCS, but seems to hurt Fairview more simply due to our size.

This is not just a football problem either.  And even though I don't have any kids playing sports anymore, it does interest me on how we can keep those better athletes, students, and overall good kids at Fairview.

    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
