Any word on how smith is looking this year? Had a very strong run to the quarters last year. Can they build off the momentum from last year and make a deep run?

Do they return alot? If so, I would say they will do pretty well considering they moved down to 2A and didn't make any major changes. Don't know much about Smith County though. The west, especially in region 6, will be a gauntlet and most of those teams will be playoff ready or injured (don't wish this on any player or team) by the time post season comes around. Gonna be an exciting season!

Gordonsville, DeKalb County, Macon County, Trousdale County, East Robertson, Upperman, Westmoreland, and Monterey all are on the Owls schedule.  That's a challenging schedule to say the least.  Liberty Creek will also be a "wild card" because nobody knows just how good they'll be this year in year number one at the varsity level.

With the pieces that Smith County returns in 2023 and the fact that they are now in 2A and don't have to play East Nashville in the playoffs I would say that the Owls have a strong shot at making a serious run to Chattanooga.

Enough returning pieces to make some noise! Need some youngins on the front line to step up and If our backfield is healthy we will be okay! 2 me we are underdogs in the region though. Preseason we look to be fighting for 2nd place. East Robertson via social media has more D1 Athletes than UT!  Not sure how they haven't had more success, but looking forward to that challenge. I like our chances though!

ER fans have literally said y’all are the team to beat. Stop trying to make bulletin board material.

Lol. ER is battling for second. Are you needing attention. They haven’t had success in the past due to a whole coaching staff. Also when you have a 6’5” athlete why wouldn’t you get recruited. Just taking one kid here. Not 7

    • I havent kept up with Keeton since he went to Oakland, so hearing he is in a BOE role now, that may trump him coming back.  Rennard on the other hand. That dude is a Man Builder! And he was cut loose this spring from Scotts Hill. Heard him in a interview a few months back and he inspired me. He needs to be back home in the Purple & Gold, regardless of if he is HC or not or even if he doesnt coach at all, his presences will improve the environment. But Again, I have no clue if he would even be interested.
    • biggest....just saying he is good at what he does. I may or may not have already floated this out his way.   He is a good guy!
    • Shoulders from Macon co.  A creasy protege. Has the best coached team in the area as of late. Not much shot to win a state title at Macon but could very well be a contender with the talent coming up through the peewee and junior high ranks in TC I hear. He my dark horse candidate. trousdale co fans could also brag to their neighbors that they talked their best coach into coming to TC on a year of such high expectations at Macon co.
