How exactly did they “blow it” though? They were playing in the last game of the season. Got beat by a better team, I never saw any team from the East winning 1A last year

Correct. Clay County was beaten in the state championship game by an undefeated team that was , to my way of seeing it, the clearly more talented team. In the past people would have laughed at the suggestion that Clay could ever make it that far. I am sure this was some disgruntled parent or kid.
