State Tournament

I know I have seen in years past the state tournament bracket and it would have the bracket already aligned with what winners from what regions are paired in the first rounds of the state tournament. For example it would say:

Region 1/2 v Region 5/6 

Region 3/4 v Region 7/8

If I’m not mistaken??? Or did I dream that this was the case. Anyways, is the draw actually a blind draw?

Okay! I thought maybe I had… I don’t know where I was thinking that happened one year. So basically, only teams in the same district or region will be placed on opposite sides

Yes and all the rest could draw each other.

I hope it isn’t like the last few years.  It has been a blind draw that nobody is allowed to see (because of COVID).  Can’t live stream it either. Too dangerous….

They did a draw after the Region Tournament in 2020 or 2021, I believe 2021. I seen it. They have done it before but to make sure it isn't corrupt they had to wait until after the Region to keep teams from losing on purpose. They drew before substate was over in 2020 or 2021. You didn't dream it because it did happen.  Could have been 2022.

what you're thinking of happened in 1998-2000 when they did pre-determined which sectional winners(and runners up) played eachother in advance; it worked but it took out the blind draw element
