rebelraider,

why didn't your boy wrestle driggers monday night at central? instead, his brother had to. how did zach do against knox from farragut? zach is a good wrestler, but he hasn't beaten the top 160's in his own region yet. if he can win the region, i think he could come in the top 6-10 in the state. he'll have his hands full with knox and driggers at the region. that will be his first true test.

Johnson is seeded #1 in the 152 bracket for the Brentwood Tournament.

Has Johnson wrestled @ 152 anywhere other than the Overton Tournament this year? TennBest has him ranked @152 but I think he has wrestled 160 all year with the exception of the Overton Tournament, where he finished third.

BAJ16:

Actually I go to Mt.Juliet and we were at the Ryan Tournment this past weekend, we werent exactly at our strongest b/c we had some of our good wrestlers out.. but what i said earlier about Pack and BA not coming to the Brentwood Tourney i wasnt trying to get smart with you at all but u made it sound like McTorry is awesome and no one can beat him, and i was just saying that Pack did and it would be a close match if they met again

Sorry. He needs to find a "thread" for dummies. In fact, maybe he could get his own listing under sports. It could go between football and women's basketball: For Dummies!

The best are:

Gibson, Pack, Byrd, Beasley, Thomason, Donahue. It should be interesting this weekend. It looks like Pack should win again. But if Donahue ever decides to get mad and be aggressive, he just might take it to pack.

I've seen him twice and he's decent. Did he move in from out-of-state? What year is he? He and Byrd have to be the tallest 160's in the state. I'd like to see the two of them go at it.

    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
    • He was pretty darn good for a freshman, but he will have a hard time seeing the field at Oakland for a good while, I’m afraid.
    • Dang I feel bad for the kid. I’m sure he loves his dad and wants to do anything for his dad but I don’t think he realizes his dad isn’t doing the best for his football career if he keeps jumping schools.
    • I’m not taking shots at the kid, but “athlete” is not something I would use to describe him. He was a long, lengthy, defensive back
    • Mistakes like that should never happen.
