Gomab, you put them number 1 oh my gosh, a couple weeks ago you said Father Ryan was the best team in the state and would remain number one all year. but anyways...... What does everyone think about the Lions this year? They have beat hendersonville, Brentwood Aacdemy, Loudon, and Jackson Christian School. Their only loss is to Haywood Co. (who was unbelivable from behind the arc that night). Over the break they are going to Centralia, Il. (taking Bartletts spot in the tournament , if oyu will) and to Orlando, FL, for the midnight Hoops Classic. so what does everybody think about this team?

In the 60th Annual Centralia Holiday Tournament, Harding won their first round game against Alton, IL High School 74-53. Trey Williams scored 26 points. Sophomore Byron Taylor, who sat out the early part of the season due to ineligibility, scored 15. John Bradford put up 14 and Adam Rodriguez scored 12. Four players in double digits sounds pretty good to me. :) They will advance in the winners bracket to play the Cahokia, IL Comanches. Brackets of the tournament are on Centralia's website: <http://www.centraliahs.org/2002/Index/frameset.htm>.

GO LIONS!!!

Harding had a great showing in their debut appearance in the Centralia Holiday Tournament, capturing 3rd place, with a close loss to host school and eventual champion Centralia in the semi-final round. The Lions are now ringing in the new year in sunny Orlando, Florida, where they will participate in the third annual Midnight Basketball Invitational hosted by Boone High School, featuring the top teams in the state of Florida. Here's what the Orlando Sentinel wrote about this fast-growing tournament: <http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/high...dlines%2Dorange>.

On Jan. 2, Harding will be featured in the opening game of the tournament at 4:00 against one of the Orlando area's toughest teams, the Lions of Oviedo High School, featuring 6-7 stand-out center Grant Herren. Harding will be the only team in the tournament from out of the state of Florida, and hopefully will represent Tennessee well and bring back the 1st place trophy. The full tournament schedule can be found on the Orlando Sentinel's website (this is different than the link above): <http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/high...dlines%2Dorange>.

Oh by the way, Boone High School, the host school and defending champions, may sound familiar to those of you who followed the Arby's Classic in Bristol this past week. The Boone Braves participated in the Arby's Classic, where they didn't have such a hot showing, dropping into the loser's bracket early after a 40 point loss to Wheeler (GA).

GO LIONS!!!
