Congrats FRHS Girls, although I'm sure you are dissapointed with a 3rd place finish...you should have beaten 5-A #1....I think your team can become VERY STRONG....STAY TIGHT....GO IRISH

It was ashame that the Lady Irish lost to Athens, AL.

It wasn't so much losing to a better team, than having the officials determine the outcome.

The foul ratio was about 3 - 1 against FRHS.

Athens had about 12 fouls total called against them, and 3 of those came in the last minute of the game.

FRHS never got into the bonus.

I even heard remarks made by members (and fan's) of other schools on how poorly and one sided the game was called. I think 3 FRHS players fouled out of that game.

Athens was on a 48 game winning streak going into the game vs. FRHS.

Guess they (Alabama officials) didn't want this win streak broken by a Tennessee team.

The FRHS players will be better for it, and will learn to play through situations like that!

Final Score: Athens 59 FRHS 53

Father Ryan has one of the finest girl's teams in the state period. I think, with a little luck, the lady irish will compete for a region title. If they can get through that, and stay humble, they might actually get through a sectional game...............This team has potential to win D2 state...can they learn and improve in the next month and a half?....My guess is YES......GO IRISH
