KGP3428
Until someone beats Baylor, they're still the best. What kind of team is MBA going to have this year? They're obviously going to have a strong group of distance and middle distance, but what about sprints, jumps, hurdles, etc. I know they lost most of their throwers from last year. Do they have people to step up and replace them?
Guest BAownzFHS
No MBA is gonna stink this year they lost the distance and there throwers plus many of there sprinters there not even in the picture...bayor on the other hand lost willie who scored bout half the teams points by himself and brett there other decathlete who scored alot of other points and u know who i tihnk is the best BA i mean think we lost all of .....not even one person... and then we got two new juniors this year that will score alot of points individually i mean i cant say were the best i have no clue but were better than last year and baylor and MBA are not as good as they were last year
Senior2Shine03
I personally think Notre Dame will have one of the best teams in Division II . They most likely will win State.
Guest 1styrtracker
MBA has distance and that's about it at this point, but one thing you should know about MBA. There are NO standout incredible atheletes (minus denbo in shot and discus from LAST year ) ALl of the kids there have dedication and work so hard on the basics the whole year that it gets them to a point later on in the season where they are more competitive with other schools:BA, McCallie, Baylor, CBHS, Father Ryan etc.. I know Baylor has a very strong team this year, from a meet in chatanooga two weekends ago and they should have a good chance at winning it all if they don't mess up. WesVLT
As of right now, here are my top 4: 1. McCallie 2. Baylor 3. Brentwood Academy 4. Montgomery Bell Academy ANY of these teams has a good shot at state. It should be fun! [Edited by WesVols on 4-16-03 10:59A]
trailrunner
BA did lose Brad Polley. I know youve still got good distance runners, but he did score 14 points I think at state last year(3200, 1600, 800) after being injured, so I dont think you can quite say you didnt lose a single person. WesVLT
You're right, but the BA distance team has also added some very strong young runners, and Andrew Bumbalough's success will more than make up for Polley's loss (though he was an outstanding runner). When these 4 teams met at Midsouth, they went 1-2-3-4 in the order that I gave in my previous post, so I'd say that's how they stand right now. Things can change, though. BPolley
thanks westopher....bumbi will definitely more than make up for my points though (i did score 23 i think my junior year but im trying to forget about last season) along with Ross and the others. another big loss which has gone overlooked is 2 of the top 4 or 5 hurdlers in div 2, jonathan gore and RL hesson. with that said, BA still looks strong and has filled some gaps which had plagued us during my days (ie field events) just curious, who are you trailrunner?
