White Co. should win against Blackman in the first round of the Dist. tourney as long as the whole team doesn't get the flu like they did in last years Dist. tourney. After that there will be no easy games because Cookeville, Oakland, and Riverdale can beat anybody if the other team is a little off. I think they will get to the region, but it will be hard for every team to get to the region finals. Good luck Warriorettes!!!

white has some great shooters and they'll need them against blackman...blackman has shown signs of their true capability..but can they put it together when it counts? i like blackman for four reasons:

1. at home

2. more team speed

3. better post play

4. capable of putting pressure on white's guards

yet i would still call it an upset for blackman to win, because basically i don't expect them to handle tourny pressure.

White Co. should beat blackman tuesday night. The only thing blackman has in their favor is the game is at home. I don't think their team speed is better than White Co. I don't even think it is as good for that matter. Their post game I don't think is as good as White Co. either. I mean Blackman is very capable of beating good teams they have shown that but White Co. is a better team and should win. After that though the district will be a toss up I think. Cookeville, riverdale, or White county all being as capable as the other to win it. I think oakland could sneek in their possibly but they are not as good as the previous 3 mentioned.

I like White Co over Blackman. Two things they will have to do to win, guard Hicks when she pulls out of the paint because she will shoot, and keep a lookout for Hughes as the play moves away from her in transition. That is where she attacked Riddle from Oakland and put her out for the season. She is most dangerous when she is losing.

Speaking of which, Oakland will be lucky to get out of district unless they play together and move on defense.

    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
    • He was pretty darn good for a freshman, but he will have a hard time seeing the field at Oakland for a good while, I’m afraid.
    • Dang I feel bad for the kid. I’m sure he loves his dad and wants to do anything for his dad but I don’t think he realizes his dad isn’t doing the best for his football career if he keeps jumping schools.
    • I’m not taking shots at the kid, but “athlete” is not something I would use to describe him. He was a long, lengthy, defensive back
    • Mistakes like that should never happen.
