I understand waiting it out, but this is rediculous.....we haven't practiced outside in a week, is everyone else's fields as bad as ours??? Don't get me wrong, I would love nothing more than to get out on that field (finally) and play, but if it is bad and we still play, it will end up hurting more than it helps. Busted bats and busted butts aren't my idea of a good weekend.

My DD's coach tells us that the game schedule has been modified to try and get some play this weekend. My understanding is:

Games scheduled for Friday are postponed.

Games scheduled for Saturday will be played as originally scheduled.

Postponed Friday games will be played Saturday afternoon/evening following the original Saturday games.

Pray for some sunshine and warmer weather for the next 24-36 hours!!!!!

P.S. Don't shoot me, I'm only the messenger :>)

We went out to the fields last night after practice to

see the fields. Water was still standing on first base on one field. Someone had try to rake out home plate but it was

a mud pile. The field on your left when you walk into the park was nothing but mud! The back field was just as bad

as the field on your right when you walk into the park. Unless someone gets out there with diamond dry and works all day and hopes for wind and sun I dont think we will get

this one in for Saturday. I think everyone wants to play but the rain has really taken its toll on these fields. Why not play them at the new park in MJ??

this just in, games are scheduled for tomorrow.

Hendersonville and Lipscomb @ 10:30 a.m.

Hendersonville and Riverdale @ 12:00?

Hendersonville and Friendship @ 3:00?

Hendersonville and Overton @ 6:00?.

all these would be good matchups if field conditions

were playable, hope everyone is a "mudder", or there

might be a lot of slippin' and slidin' goin' on.

I want to thank Coach Sullenger, staff, and field personel for the fine job putting on the tournament. The fields were in better shape than I thought possible. We actually played on dirt which is a first for us this year. Thanks again and you can count on us next year.

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
