Notre Dame is a level below McCallie and Baylor, and shouldn't be compared with them.

The poll shown below is just for the Chattanooga area schools. The statewide polls by division are on soccerinfo.com, usually. I don't know if any have been published pre-season for 2003.

Mccaullie isnt as strong a team as everyone will think them to be. They are young, though well coached. We scrimmaged them last week losing 2-1, by a mistake from our rookie goalkeeper. We dominated the second half, but just couldnt put the ball in the net. I think Notre Dame and Baylor will be at the top of the charts, but Mccaullie will struggle with both of those teams.

I don't think you can tell a lot about teams from scrimmages. In McCallie's case, their number 1 scorer from last year is still playing basketball. Coaches take advantage of scimmages to experiment with players. You've got defensive players playing up and offensive players at fullback. Come May, the rubber hits the road. In 1998 the eventual state champion, Hendersonville, lost 3 of its first 4 games. In 1999 the eventual state champion, McCallie, lost 4 games in the beginning of the season. Scrimmage results make fodder for early season threads but are not overly reliable for forecasting the final results.
