How do you get a save in a 9-3 game.

If the reliever comes in when there is a save situation and finishes the game, he gets the save, no matter if the winning team wins by 6 or 16.

 

Ex. Reliever comes in the game in the bottom of the sixth with his team lead 4-3. He works out of the inning with no harm done and his offense puts up a 5-spot in the top of the seventh to make it 9-3. He allows no runs in the bottom of the seventh...he gets the save.
