jmoses Posted April 10, 2003 Report Share Posted April 10, 2003 She just shut out a very good Forrest team the other day and we put a gun on her and she was throwing 60-62 and was able to do this throughout the game (this is more important than a 67mph over the catchers head). I would say she is a much better pitcher this year than last with a lot better control with an improved change up. Someone is coaching her right, get control, learn a good change up to go with the fastball. If she masters another good pitch she may become a premier pitcher. She is a great pitcher, and to all of ya'll that say she can't pitch that fast need to face her agian! I'm not tryin to be mean bu u can't tell how fast someone is pitching just by getting up and hitting agianst her! The Pisga pitcer was clocked at 71or72 something like that and i got up agianst her and it didn't look like it was that fast but it was. So is u think Brittney can't pitch 70 just because you have player her look agian! And to all that can hit wut she is bringin , you are doin very well, because not just anybodyt could hit that heat! banjodr Posted April 28, 2003 Report Share Posted April 28, 2003 Gun on her today best pitch 63 during game twice. 65 at times is warmup. best pitch is now the heat but the changeup but has trouble throwing for strikes. has to develop confidence in off pitch to take it to next level and she is working on that. s3softball Posted April 28, 2003 Report Share Posted April 28, 2003 when we played her she was fast, maybe mid 60's but very wild, walked a lot of batters. she hit our first batter first pitch on the inside of the knee and put her out for a week so she does throw hard. cole44 Posted April 30, 2003 Report Share Posted April 30, 2003 She can definately bring it. As far as mid seventies go she can but not in the strike zone. She has been clocked at 66,67,68 regularly in the summer. Scouts are just now starting to watch her @ Richland. She is only a junior and has just really developed her change-up. Her drop is getting better ever game. The thing is she has been averaging 12 + strikeouts since her freshman year. She is a true gamer, no matter what the game is. If she could have only had a little better Defense her first couple of years she would have set Huge records. Best of all she is a great kid that respects the game, it's coaches, it's fans, and is a great teammate. Never has an ego. If she could ever pitch 4 days in a row you would really see how she can throw. But as was already stated Richland has another great pitcher in Edwards (a starter since the 8th grade) She always gets stronger and with more control. Last fall in a tourn. She pitched a perfect game followed by a no hitter, followed by another no hitter and her best of the three was the last. Can you not tell if someone is having a GREAT DOMINATING game? thats what you have to worrie about with Brittney. if she is having an awsome game she will throw about 67-68 or maybe even 70! so its not always how fast she pitches within one game put all games together because she has hit 70 and she has thrown 65 so no one really knows how fast she is pitching! it just depends on how good her arm feels or that she just might be throwin that much heat at that time ! so before everyone gets on here talking about how fast she pitched, you need to understand everybody is goin to have thier bad days and good days! Now just go out and beat Goodpasture and if the Forrest girls do their job too we can see these two fine teams go at it again at the Spring Fling! The Forrest fans were following the game on radio and when ya'll took them to extra innings The Rocket side let out a cheer, the Ezell side was pretty quiet. Really was hoping to play again in Memphis, keep up the good work Brittany and Richland girls. Things should be interesting in 11A next year!
