If anyone knows of any former area football players that are overseas protecting our country, would you please list their names and schools. My church is compiling a prayer list of these young warriors . Thanks and MAY GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!

I played with 2 guys that are over in Iraq right now. Like everyone else I feel a mixture of emotions; mainly pride

in their courage and committment which is also accompianed

by fear for their safety. One thing I don't doubt is who

will be victorious. I know the makeup of these guys and

also know there are many others like them over there. Saddam doesn't stand a chance!

As for listing former players names I don't know that I'm the expert to ask. My guess is that listing first and last wouldn't hurt since it's been done here already on other boards.

So I guess it's up to those who want to list them.

Grundy County has former football and basketball standout Jason Coffelt deployed in harms way but he's not in the Iraq theatre. By all means pray for his safe return home.

Please forgive me guys for editing and deleting some threads, but if you want to debate the war, go to the OPEN BOARD. This thread was began to honor those young men and women who are fighting in Operation Iraqi Freedom, not to express your opinions about the war. I feel the time for debate is now over, but if you want to do so, feel free to pay your $12.00 and join in the extensive discussion on those boards. Respectfully, ELA

Boy are you far from the truth. Join CoachT.com Plus and you'll find me to be the most liberal person on this website. As a Moderator, I'm supposed to try to keep people on focus with regards to threads. Coach Thompson wants most of the political discussions on the Plus boards ONLY! Ask anyone on here and they will tell you I'm the Liberal History and Government teacher your parents warned you about! :D

    • I believe that was last year. I was interested in the Jones vs Baker comment, so I went back and looked at GC. I am not a fan of either nor am I a baseball guru. This looks like to me the duel was not close and if the errors would not have been made Eagleville would have won. I assume you are a little biased. I do think your mph for Jeffcoat and Baker must be from last year.  Baker-85 pitches 67 strikes. 5.2 innings, 5H, 1BB, 0ER and 7K's. 3 errors  Jones- 78 pitches 37 strikes. 4 innings, 2H, 5BB, 0ER and 1K. 1 error   Adams and the UH kid are really good as well. What about South Pitt and Oakdale? I heard they have some good ones.
    • I hate this for all the kids in the program and fans alike. I can't recall of anything like this before in my lifetime but I'm sure it isn't a first. After criminal investigations are complete and the TSSAA looks into this the program it will be facing Nuclear Winter for some time to come. It's always the innocent left behind that end up paying the price for something someone else has done. I'm sure the transfer portal will be very active in Clinton over the summer months. How could you find a good coach worth his salt that would take on a situation like this not knowing what will happen.
    • I’ve seen Jeffcoat in person twice and he was 84-87 both times and the one time I saw Baker he was low 80’s, he actually got out dueled by Jones from ER in that outing.
    • Pirate fans, thread is up on the baseball message board.
