I look for some big names to apply for this job. The Land of OZ is loaded with talent, now and for years to come. We all know what's @ the end of the rainbow, POT OF GOLD. The school needs to hire someone that is willing to hang around for a while. This is a great time to start a collection of the GOLD BALL.

That is why an OS alum should be hired b/c they will have the loyalty and heart to stick it out. Also that pride of being from there may make them work harder to acheive a state championship. On the other hand being an alum could also be a hindrence. Pressure would be greater and that person may feel like they have to prove themselves.

i believe that is an excellent point concerning being a hometown coach and that it gives added presure.

 

as with my questions concerning the next coach at greeneville. "what does the program need"

 

i think the focus should be on what type of coach the program needs---not who it needs.

 

lets have people voice-what the program needs-

 

after that has been established then we can list coaches that fit that need

Some people say a coach is needed with experience. To a point I agree but I don't think young coaches should have that held against them just b/c of age and lack of experience. Everyone must start somewhere. If no one gives them a shot at a head job then how are they expected to gain experience? There are coaches out there who have 10+ yrs experience who have never won a championship of any kind. So should they be considered for a job just b/c they have years of experience. I don't think so, but I don't hire the coaches either.

When I speak of experience, I'm speaking about the X's & O's. I said earlier that there are high expectations at the Land of OZ, let them get their experience else where.
