Josh Markham (3-0) went the distance, scattering five hits in the shutout win over the Blaze. He struck out nine with no walks. Blackman's David Price went 5 1/3 innings, striking out 11 and walking 2 as well as hitting a batter while also allowing five hits.

 

The Warriors scored two in the bottom of the first on the HBP of Wayne Kendrick and Alex Watson's second home run of the season to left. Riverdale added one in the third on a Wayne Kendrick single and a passed ball and two wild pitches and one in the bottom of the sixth on a Watson single, Clint Alexander's ground out to first to advance him and Justin Humphrey's RBI double to left. Jason Lenard had the other hit, a double in the second.

 

It was a well-played game, with neither team committing an error and some nice plays by both teams in the field.

 

We wind it up and do it again tomorrow at Blackman

All I have to say about tonight is The Price is Wrong. Every one told the Riverdale boys that Price was gonna shut them down but they proved all of the non-believers wrong.
