Grant Jones is a good catcher for Gallatin. He throws a 2.00 to second and he is blocking very well. His bat is comming around and he will be a future prospect. Go "Lonk" and Go Gallatin!!!

Looking at this thread, I have to give props to my boy Ryan Price of Giles County. He has great defensive skills and a cannon for an arm. Plus, on offense, he always has a great batting average in addition to a ton of power. Last, and certainly not least, he has the heart and attitude to lead the team to many victories this year.

i think the best catcher in the state is Michael McKinrey out of Farragut HS. Kid is strong defensively and offensively. He also rarely has a bad game.

This guy is a gammer, maybe not the biggest

but plays with MAJOR INTENSITY, Can carry

the team, a leader.

Also I would give a nod to Giles Co. catcher

Matt Hill of Rhea County....runs a 6.9 60. Throws 1.9 for the plate to 2b.

well there are a few good catchers in the middle tn area... depends on what you're looking for though!!... the ideal catcher that anybody really wants is: good at receiving the ball, a good arm, good at blocking, a good bat with some pop, great feet, and someone who knows the situation of the game and knows what pitches each one of his pitchers can throw and when they are able to throw them...

 

NOT many catchers in the state have all of these qualifications... actually most of them only take about a third from what i listed... Eaglevilles catcher is very good not many stolen bases off of him.. warren co.'s is pretty good considering that he is a freshman.. lebanon's catcher is a little above average... riverdale's catcher is pretty good... from what i've seen he and the eagleville catcher are about the only ones that can say they fit all of the qualifications... only thing is is watson needs to hit backside more often!!!!!!!!! PERIOD!!!! EVERYBODY CAN PULL THE BALL!!! HITTING to the opposite field with power is what separates the men from the boys!!!
