they all said he couldn't play football as a freshman and he proved them wrong, they said no freshman could play basketaball and he proved the critics wrong and the only reason he's not playing baseball is because none of the Cyclone Coaches has ever seen him play. Baseball could be he's best sport. He was only 13 year old co mvp in the Jr. Babe ruth and won the batting title his 14 and 15 year old year. But the key is the Cyclone Coaches didn;t attend their feeder programs games. Peters also played on two state Championship all star teams, the only teams in many many years to make trips to the southeast regionals. Ask Acie Ensor at Unaka or Greg Hyder at Happy Valley if he can play, they can answer that question because they attended the games. When you have seniors batting in the very low 100's how much worst can anybody do espicailly from the bench.

charles peters is a good baseball player~ i've played with him for several years, you can't go blame EHS coaches~ when he gets in the swing of baseball, i'm for sure he'll be moved up~ and there isn't any seniors in the team batting in the low 100's~ peters will play when the coaches thinks he is

 

volunteer gave us a very good game~ they played hard and didn't give up~ good job on the W

hows that first pitchers arm~ he threw a lot and about 80 % curves

Yes, very good game played by Volunteer (that's how my Hawkins County boys play). But good game by 'Betsy too. Anyways, I wonder if this Charles guy is a relative...

Looks like my average aint in the 100's. we are winning what can you say? we had one bad game last night, alot of things didnt go our way. and whoever said you only get 15 cuts a day, well go hit on your own like a bunch of us do.

take those 15 cuts and show them what you can do with them.

you arent handed opportunities you are supposed to work for them.

We would love to have charles at unaka thats where he wanted to go in the beginning anyways.Charels is a really good player and he should be starting in the outfield with out a doubt.

Charles is a good ball player and he is part of the Elizabethton Cyclones baseball team.Just give the coaches time and they will make a decision about where he plays.But this thread wasn't started to talk about one guy from the Cyclones but the team as a whole.We are winning as a team not one person winning for us.

Deke Rivers, first of all you should get all your facts right before coming on this board. I am one of the Cyclone coaches and I have seen all these kids play for years including Charles. There is no question that he is a very good player and yes he will be on the varsity soon, but because of basketball he just got far behind the others. The coaching staff at EHS will not run the risk of placing a young kid in a varsity situation until they are ready. The reason is for the kid. There are several very good freshman at EHS this year and only one or two has had any varsity playing time. Maybe you should ask them just how hard it is to make the adjustment from Jr. Babe Ruth to Varsity baseball. This thread started out about Cyclone baseball and has turned into one about just one kid. If you really support Charles then maybe you should support the Cyclones because this is a TEAM game, and he is a part of the TEAM.

mr. buryljr if you have watched the jr, babe ruth teams play then you should know that most of the players on the Elizabethton team played on the jr babe ruth state championships teams, Soundslike your punishing a player for playing basketball. Also havent seen you name on the payroll at Eliz. High School, must have over looked it what do you teach? Ask your head coach how many games he has attended, should be in the neighborhood of 1 and closer to none. How long did it take your seniors to make the grade after basketball, 1 day??, They had no problem ajusting, ah! Baseball season ends in a couple of week it this not right?.... Like May 2nd or 3rd.... 13 days away, about to late to bring anybody up this year.
