IndianScalper
I thought Rutledge was on spring break???
CHHS72
That is not what Whalen said. If he is wrong then I am wrong. I had assumed that they were on Spring break until I talked to Whalen tonight.

CHHS72
Rutledge 5 Volunteer 4 Ofiero took the loss in relief. Eidson started. Dee Charles hit a home run. It was the first of the year for the Falcons. It was 4-2 Volunteer going into the bottom of the 7th. Eidson struck out the first batter and then hit the second batter. Runner on first. Eidson was then relieved by Ofiero with Eidson going to right field and Charles moving to center. After the runner on first took second on a wild pitch, the third batter hit a line drive to right field. Eidson misjudged it and the batter ended up with a double and a RBI. The fourth batter hit a grounder to Byington at third. He fielded the ball and threw to first. The throw could have been better, but Gilreath caught the ball and then dropped it and picked it back up. It looked like the runner should have been out but the umpire called him safe. The runner on second went to third on the play. With runners on first and third, the runner on first went to second. The fifth batter was then walked intentionally. The sixth batter then lined a hit to right field to knock in two runs. Game over. One out when the winning run scored. Final 5-4 Rutledge. It was a heart breaker. KevB1990
I was very impressed with the Falcons. Not a thing to hang your head about. Both teams can make the case that it was a lot closer than it should have been, but in the end it just happened to be Rutledge on top this time. Hope to see the Falcons and the Pioneers go at it again in the Region...should be another great game.
