Talk is cheap. Play the game. McMinn is a good enough and experienced enough team to know when they're playing a real team-and that, for sure, Farragut is. I am a McMinn fan and have seen Farragut play-they're excellent. I have seen McMinn play-they're very good in their own right. You folks from Knoxville keep on talking down to those hicks down in Athens but don't forget where you go to cherry pick talent for your club teams. Good luck, McMinn.

Nah...I am not gonna diss you, I have a strong opinion and when I saw ridiculous posts like the ones about McMinn I had to make my presence felt...I might be getting a little old now, but of course I know my soccer...I play now, and I played then...i know how it works. and to see someone disrespect Farragut so bad as to say that McMinn would upset them...that is just ludicrous...i mean, if you are a team that gets lucky and has an easy way to the state tournament just accept it and dont try to pretend your team is good...ya know...

First, all the people who were talking about the upset are probably not even associated with McMinn. So stop wasting your time arguing with someone who is talking out of their a--. And although an upset was highly unlikely, it was possible. We knew exactly what we were goin up against, because a lot of us have played club ball in the past with a lot of the Farragut players. But there's no need to get on here and act childish, trashing mcminn or whatever. We got creamed by a team who was obviously a lot better than us. And that's all there is to it.

The fact is that with the exception of Bearden and Farragut and what i thought would be Brentwood and Hendersonville, no one in AAA would survive in D2. The scores of the AAA state tournament is ridiculous. Farragut and BEarden won each of their game with an average score of 6-0. That is absolutely ridiculous. At least A/AA has competition and good score lines and game going on. AAA state tournament makes me laugh and the only state caliber game being played for AAA is happening today at 5 o'clock if I'm not mistaken. This is just an opinion and I still want to give congrats to all that made it to the states from all divisions. Good luck to everyone next year as well.

    • You didn't spell Greeneville and Elizabethton correctly in your sentence.  4A has the best teams in Upper East TN.  Carter County All-Stars and Greene County All-Stars is the Superbowl now.
    • Yeah, but if he goes to Science Hill they are guaranteed at least a win over Kingsport and that's basically the NET Superbowl
    • I expect Sevier County might be pretty good, perhaps Mo West as well.     But I don't see either of them getting out of round 2.          The rest of the region gets smoked in round 1.            Except for those once-in-a-blue-moon anomaly years the NET big schools are pretty much the same every season.
    • Wanted to see if all of you would lift up Kyle James family in prayer. Kyle was one of the best wrestlers to ever come out of Soddy Daisy and as some of you know he lost his house a few weeks ago and now his family and friends mourns his passing. Not sure if any of you were around in early 2000’s when Kyle was wrestling at Soddy, but he was a 3 time state champ and a Fargo AA along with going to Colorado to train to make the Olympic team. That goal was never reached due to medical issues, but he was an amazing wrestler and his family is as good as gold. If you were around at that time and have any pictures of Kyle, please go onto Alexy Winesburgh FB page and post. Thanks, Doug Benton
    • My opinion the 8 teams will be-  Greenback, Wartburg, Gordonsville, Jo Byrns, Eagleville, Bruceton, Dresden, and South Fulton. Gordonsviile is probably the favorite but I wont say it will be an easy road. With the right draw any of the 8 could win it.
