Must see TV. This one will re-air on Tuesday at 7:00 (I think) on Comcast 75.

A truly great high school football game must include the following:

1. A great rivalry . . . There are some as big, but none bigger than this one. The place was packed 2 hours before gametime. These two schools love to battle.

2. See-saw battles . . . Lipscomb up 21-6. Goodpasture scores 22 unanswered. Three turnovers on four plays.

3. Fluke plays . . . DeMarcos Robinson, Goodpasture's 300 lb. defensive tackle, intercepts a Burton Elrod screen pass after it bounced of an offensive lineman's head and returns it for a TD.

4. Big plays . . . Goodpasture's Turner (WR) & Janco (QB) connect on a big-time fade TD. Lispcomb's Austin Rogers was in great position, but can do nothing to stop this connection. Elrod connects w/ Rogers for several big plays. Janco connects w/ what seems like everyone.

5. Heroic efforts . . . Lipscomb's middle LB, Madison Taylor, ends the night with 20 tackles. Goodpasture's defensive ends, Jones & Cobb as well as LB's, Alford and Haynes are unblockable. Neither team ever quit.

6. In-the-zone performances . . . Janco can't miss. Lipscomb's Cutler Robertson (RB) runs for over 180 yds., receives for another 15, and scores 24 of Lipscomb's 38 points.

7. Dramatic endings . . . Screen pass INT for TD w/ 2:00 to go puts GP up 35-28. Elrod connects w/ Rogers on a bomb on DL's next offensive play. GP held three and out. DL's Robertson runs for what appears to be a long TD w/ under 1:00 to go. Three seconds left and Robertson kicks a 35 yard field go as the clock ticks to 0:00.

8. "Tears" of joy . . . (These are males, so of course no one actually cried, but there were some sweaty eyes.)

9. "Tears" of devastation . . . (Again, these are males, so no one actually cried.)

10. Hand-shakes of respect . . . Just a few years ago this rivalry was dangerously close to being ugly. Now things have brightened, thank goodness. The players have nothing but the utmost respect for one another, and the same can be said for the coaching staffs.

This was one of the greatest games ive ever seen. Both teams played with such emtion all players looked like they wanted this game. Both teams displayed wonderful things.GP hurt themselves alot and allowed big playes for Lipscomb.I sopke to QB for Goodpasture and he said and i quote" This was the greatest game ive ever played in and been apart of, it was fun being out there competeing back and forth". It did seem like when one team scored the other one did on the next drive.Janco also said he has much respect to the players for Lipscomb expesscially: elrod, taylor.robinson, and linheng. He said himand linheng were pretty good friends.

I cant wait to see these two teams play again in the playoffs it will be another one for the record books.Congrats DL AND GP on a great game.

Janco also went on to say that he likes the way Taylor hits giving him a mild concussion in the midle of the second quarter.
