Perry County vs. Middleton

i've got alot against the coaches (with the exemption of Laster and Gray)

I went to hs in pc, i liked it, but to me when I played and the direction our team is headed is not something to be proud of.

In our first 2 years we were not eligible for the playoffs, starting the 2000 season, perry county was eligible for the playoffs, and played only Varsity teams. (this year middleton and cornersville had mostly 8th & 9th graders on their varsity!!!)

So the two years I played;the ONLY TWO PLAYOFF teams we've ever had. We lost some games but we had a tough schedule playing LEWIS CO., BRUCETON, and Hickman co.

If I hear someone on here say that pc has a tough schedule, I will refer them to the STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE list on coacht.com, look, out of 51 (i think) teams that have football perry county is 43rd!!!!!!! JEEZ LOUISE, come on coaches have some confidence!!! I know you ultimately want to win games, but this is horrible.

When you play good teams you will get better, that is a fact. WE WILL NOT MAKE THE PLAYOFFS!!!!!!! I Said it, print it, we will not. I am not making some wierd prediction, only 4 tems in the region get in....USJ, JCS, Fayette, TCA....by the way, Fayette beat JCS tonite!

Even when I was playing; on paper or on film we always match up to JCS, but we never pull it out.

Say what you want about Wampler and Aldridge, but they had kids with less experience, playing a WAY harder schedule. I say less experience because at that time we only had football for like 2-3-4 yrs. not like for example joey depreist, I use him because he has been in football since he was like 1st grade. JOEY will be a SWEET lineman one day. My teams never had that advantage.

Say what you want about me, I run my mouth alot, but these are facts. I like every kid on the team this year, no doubt about that. I feel so bad for them, if Wampler& Clement, or Aldridge & Clement had these kids who knows.

I am not running the coaches down, I am stating my OPINION, giving HARD FACTS to support it. This post shouldn't be edited by robjim, who edits all my posts, or deleted either.

Cambell Co, used to give up almost 200 yds a game and win about twice a year, now that wampler is running their D, they are giving up about 90 yds a game, and winning a little more, it is only his second year. Lexington speaks for themselves, they are in a hard region but the guys on 96.5 (espn radio) have the hs football radio show, said that Coach clement could run any offense in the state!

The changes I want will prolly never get made, we will keep our wayne co. staff, and keep losing.

The wayne co staff in 3 yrs have gone (3-7) (3-7) and this year prolly (4-6) or 5-5 if we manage to beat adamsville.

If #28 runs over us, it won't even be a contest...coach robinson, show us how smartr you are. You have a great linebacker in Collin Bastin, let him do his job, Forrest, and Calvin are in on this too.....everyone says you are a jerk and too smart for a DC, prove em wrong...win one for the gipper :D

WEAK!!!!

We should schedule Collinwood, wayne Co. Ezell, cloudland, or DCA, or South Pitt.

If we played SWEET TEAMS like these (wayne co excluded) and lost, I couln't say ANYTHING, because I know these are established GREAT programs.

Ask the kids who they want to play....I guarantee they might fool some people and break some hearts in east, middle, and west TN. BUT I GUESS WE WILL NEVER KNOW, CAUSE SOME PEOPLE DON'T HAVE THE HEART TO DO IT.

So the two years I played;the ONLY TWO PLAYOFF teams we've ever had.  We lost some games but we had a tough schedule playing LEWIS CO., BRUCETON, and Hickman co.

We made the playoffs last year, too.

are you sure?

Who did we play???

do you agree with my point?

I know you respect the coaches alot more than me. You and I have our differences but I will give you credit you are a great fan, and know alot about the vikings.

Joey is your stepson, Joey Could be one of the best defensive linemen, ot Tackles in the State.

Todd is the same way, the current losers never pushed him (wampler did). I think that is up to you and joey, to lift and run. I really respect joey's talent, he has one thing you can't teach...SIZE (like todd).

Wampler made calls for underclassmen, and upperclassmen to college coaches, and things of that sort, our wayne co. losers, don't do that.

I understand that a man has a family and children, but to be a successful coach you need one of two things to be successful in this region....

1.) To be able to recruit (USJ, JCS, TCA)

2.) Or to be completely in love with your job, I mean Wamp is married and so is Clement, so was Fudd, but they are like me, when it comes to football they have a sickness, we used to practice from 1pm to 7-8pm. When we ran a play, we didn't ask questions, it was instinctive!

Now they are done practicing mon thru thurs. by like 3 or maybe 4. That isn't detication, I remember clement and Wampler and Fudd being in the old football office looking at film unitl like 3:00am saturday morning. Then we watched (DISECTED) the film, that is why we won.

Joey could be playing for the vols, or at least Lambuth if he hit it hard now, don't expect the coaches to help anybody. One more example is Shannon Rainey, and Hickman. shannon played college football but had to dropout at Cumberland cause of grades, since then he is FASTER (4.3) and is benching 300lbs, and squatting about 350lbs. All on his own. Hickman shattered rushing records at the high school and middle school, but he isn't playing ball. One more...what about wes Waters, he could bench about 350 in hs, now about 400, and he has gotten slimmer, and added muscle weight, and runds a 4.5. He could go to MTSU and Beat out Jonathan Ward in a heartbeat, where is he???

I just think that joey could be something, but my point is, don't let them make his playing decsions, in the offseason help him gety huge, let him dictate his own destiny.

I don't mean to interfere, but he has potential, and is a good example, if he gets mean!!!! serious!!! and stronger, a little quicker, D-1, all the way

Tim, we played Bruceton.

You're right. We disagree on our feelings about the coaches to some extent.

Your right about Joey to some extent. I don't see him in Big Orange. For one thing his Granny would disown him :) (His uncle went to Vandy). I have seen great improvment in him with this set of coaches. He grew 3 1/2 inches in the last year, and did not gain any weight. He is stronger and faster. You should have seen him downfield blocking on Billy Duncan's long run in the 4th Q. He was at least 30 yards down field on the right sideline and he played left tackle and the play started close to the left hash.

Our team this year has a junior-dominated roster, only a few seniors. We've been through so many one and two year coaching changes, I think we should give someone a chance to keep at it a while. See what they can do with a group that they have had since day one in high school.

Timbob,

Thanks for the vote of confidence.  I wish all the Vikings the best of luck for the rest of the season.

Tiger coach,

You were half of the greatest Coaching staff we will ever have, On the sports-blitz (96.5) the guys said that you had a great football mind, but you know that.

I know you are comfortable where you are at, but you could be a head coach somewhere, and have great success.

Are you going to go to any PC basketball games?

I will go to a few of them, I haven't, and will not go to a football game till we have a new coaching staff, I can't support coaches who aren't as smart as Amos.

Good luck in the rest of the season, and basketball season

Timbob,

Once again, thanks. As for b-ball, I'll just have to see how their schedule and mine mixes together but I am going to try. I always enjoy coming over for games. I hope Coaches Haskins, Lee, and Rhodes have a good year. I don't believe we are playing you guys this year at christmas like we have in the past. If I come over there, I'll try to let you know so we can get together. I'll never forget "the finger".

Perry County beat Trinity last year and made it to the playoffs as the 4th team in Region 7 behind USJ, Fayette, and JCS. They lost to Bruceton in the first round. Their chances of making the playoffs this year is right between slim and none, but closer to none. Their game with Trinity every year decides on who will make it in as the the fourth team in playoffs. Last year, they beat TCA and made the playoffs, this year they lost and will now have to beat probably JCS and Fayette Academy to get in(I don't really see that happening). Also, if Perry County was to make it to the playoffs they would have to make it to the 4th Round of Playoffs to play those "sweet" teams like CPA and Collinwood. They would have to play a Region 8 team in the First Round, probably West Carroll or South Fulton. If they were to get past them, they would have face Fayette Academy in the second round probably. Then they would have to face the winner of USJ and JCS in the third round. They would only play the likes of CPA and Collinwood in the state semifinals and they have a very tough road to get that far considering they probably won't make the playoffs in the first place. Also, a team doesn't have to recruit to be successful in Region 7. Fayette Academy has never recruited and they were the Region Runner-up last year, and probably will be this year as well.
