CPA vs Ezell - last 3 1A state champs this Friday at Ezell. Both teams lost good seniors from last year, but still have quality core of players. CPA almost healed after lots of injuries first 3 games.

Ezell must win to have chance for Region crown and hope CPA beats DCA.

If CPA beats Ezell, FRA and DCA, they win region and have home field through playoffs up to Clinic Bowl. Big advantage.

Game is at Ezell where CPA won in playoffs last year and eliminated defending state champs.

What do you think?

I think Ezell will be ready for the game. I think if they think about how they ended their season last year, then they will be fired up and they will want to get revenge on CPA. I would look for it to be a defensive game because I know Ezell can score and I am pretty sure that CPA will score. Which ever team has the best defensive game will win.

You have a short memory. LAST YEAR:

CPA was 6-3 traveling to a favored DCA AND WON;

8-3 traveling to a 11-0 Collinwood AND WON;

9-3 traveling to a 12-0 Ezell AND WON;

10-3 traveling to a 13-0 USJ AND WON;

11-3 traveling to the Clinic Bowl to meet 13-1 Boyd AND WON!

They may not beat DCA, evry year is different and DCA is a fine team;but never count CPA out. They have great coaching and a lot of pride as a team.

By the way, they also beat an undefeated 9-0 DCA in 2000 at DCA.

But first Ezell. It will be a great game.

Excellent post. I'd never looked at CPA's title run from that perspective. I think the Lions may once again reap the rewards of a tough early schedule with a narrow win over Ezell. Should be a good one!

    • I hear the Stansberry kid is having receiver's come out all the time to help put in some work.    RWR!! I hope 20+ kids are showing up.
    • I think that pretty much sums it up, really. To be perfectly honest, I'm far less sour about Eagleville getting to host themselves in the state tournament every year than I am the fact that we find ourselves in a position that we have to play STATE TOURNAMENT games at a blamed Single A facility.
    • It's time to put away with the award. 18 players selected, and 17 of those players are from Middle and East Tennessee. I guess they don't play baseball in West Tennessee. I understand there will be players that were "snubbed." We can make a legit argument that it occurs in Mr. Football and as well as Mr./Mrs. Basketball. But baseball is not a place where we can sit here and say "these are the 3 best players in this class and that class."  And we got to get rid of these polls bullcrap that's being released. It's all nonsense.
    • Thanks. I'm just trying to understand how this process works.   It seems like a bit of a sweetheart deal to me but the cookie has to crumble somewhere I guess.
    • He won’t got anywhere he has it made in h20 he prob makes almost what a head coach in t c makes plus there’s not as much pressure there everyone is a use to the losing there. I say he will be there for many years just waiting for Webster to leave…
