WOW :) :) :o:):o

Looks like CPA just jumped back into the State Title race(not that they ever really left. They just haven't been talked about)

I cant wait for CPA vs DCA in 3 weeks. Should be an early indication as to who the real favorite in 1A in the playoffs is. I know ill be there.

CPA rushing 238

Ezell rushing 51

CPA passing 14/9/1 for 263

Ezell passing 26/11/3 for 115

CPA's Travis Sikes 5 catches, 177 yards 3 TDs

CPA's Luke Landers 20 attempts/181 yards 1 TD

Ezell is a class act, at the break between the 1st and 2nd quarter they wished Mrs. Pack (David Pack's mom) happy birthday and presented her with flowers. We tried to get Bighurt to sing happy birthday over the PA, but cooler heads prevailed.

Randy Schlappi and Jeremy Gaddis are really good athletes and Ezell took their loss with class. The problem is not that Schlappi was off - Coach Pack and his staff know how to design a defense he and his coach don't know how to attack.

Coach Smith cost his kids a chance in the game going for 4th downs at midfield and trying onside kicks in the 1st half. Coach Smith thinks he can just spread out his receivers and throw every down regardless of field position and score. It works against poorly coached or prepared teams - not CPA.

  • 4 weeks later...

I would not rule Ezell out just yet. They have been improving and learning from their mistakes. They have also changed a lot of their scheme from what I can understand. I would not be shocked to see them make a run for the title. They have had several bad weeks and have not been playing their best football. I hear that they are starting to come on strong heading into the playoffs.

I agree even though I am a CPA fan. Any team that can score as quick as Ezell can with a great player like Geddis (sorry if that's spelled wrong) is always in a game. Their problem is stopping the run. But they are capable of beating anyone.
