Lewis Co in the playoffs.....

After beating the 2nd best team in the region and sitting pretty to take the region title......how do those of you who have seen the panthers in action feel about their play in the playoffs this year? Seems to me that they don't have the "kill" instinct as years past but seem to somehow find a way to win week after week. I have yet to be able to go see my alma mater play but it just doesn't seem like the Panthers I am used to keeping up with. Replies from fans and foes with honest opinions appreciated. Good luck the rest of the year and keep up the hard work!

Without seeing them play, it's hard to say. The top 4 teams in 6-2A are all pretty solid... but with Lewis County more than likely winning their region, I'd say they could make it to the 3rd round. Don't know if they can beat Huntingdon if H'don manages to avoid the 1st round upset.

Then again, no one figured McKenzie would go back to the semis last year, so who knows?

Unleash the beast. It seemed to me Friday night, Lewis County spent most of their offensive time trying to establish everything except Sharp. I know it's the regular season and - a win is a win is a win - but I don't think they can make any noise in the playoffs unless Sharp is allowed a better run-pas mix. I don't think Sharp's any great secret they can hide. Why not bust it out and work on some things now. In my opinion, Lewis County would've beaten Cheatham comfortably if they'd opened the attack and let the big dog run. Instead, they played close to the vest and were sweating out a 14-7 win. It wasn't that close.

Lewis Co. has always played conservatively. I know they did when I was in school there. Saw them go as far as they have ever been in '79 in the semis against Lake County back in the single A days. Of course they had a knockdown drag out against Fairview the week before in the quarters, so the Panthers were kinda banged up going in to that one. Then I went to college with a guy who played for Fairview that year and he said they had had a rough game the week before that with Ezell, ... sorry I'm rambling now.

    • Sounds like y'all got a lot of bodies to choose from. We lost 2 really good seniors and have 4 from Junior High that has moved up. That will give us 12 starting summer camps. As you know we all have to stay healthy. Proud Alexander and Micah are going to play together at Bethel. They were really fun to watch at the All Star game in Murfreesboro. They have real good chemistry together on the floor.
    • Baxter will do what they most always do.....at a minimum produce at least 9 Ws and run into at least the 2nd round.....Booger actually enjoyed seein them in the Gold Ball contest last season.... Booger just sayin
