I liked the wide-open offense that Cutcliffe ran. Sanders brought us back to Johnny-ball, 3 yards and a cloud of dust, except when they needed a conversion on 4th down, when he ran toss sweeps (see UF games 99 & 00).

Its hard to believe that Randy Sanders was the guy who called the plays in the 98 National Championship game he had wideopen with the two long passes two Peerless Price as well as someother things but it seems to have went down hill since then!

That's the problem...everyone still thinks that Sanders' game plan won the NC in 98.

It was three plays.

Peerless getting behind the Free Shoes U secondary twice and Dwayne "Vehicular Homicide" Goodrich stepping in front of Peter "It was a gift" Warrick to get a pick 6 saved us.

Even with Outzen at QB for FSU instead of Weinke, we had good fortune...like we did all year...in winning the game.

Stan is right. Tennessee is not getting the top talent in the league by a long shot. If you guys want to point a finger, look no further than the individual who allowed super recruiter Rodney Garner to leave and go to GEORGIA of all places! The Vols will continue to suffer from that boneheaded move for YEARS to come.

Don't leave out Leaverton's tackle of Warrick on the punt return.

We don't have the receivers we had in '98.

Why fire the coordinators? It's the players, or lack of players that are hurting Tennessee.

Tennessee does have the recievers that they had in '98 but they probably won't show it till next season. Three HS All-Americans in Robert Meachem, Bret Smith & Jason Swain. Swain & Smith seem to be getting better every game and Meachem is supposed to be better than either of them.

It isn't hard to see why Tennessee would need James Banks at QB next season insted of WR.

    • Playing high school sports is a privilege not a right.  The college did not have to rescind the scholarship.  Scholarship offers are pulled all the time for a number of reasons. That was 100% their choice.  A coach can keep, cut, or dismiss any player that they want to without reason anytime they want.  Is that the right way to run a program?? I don't think that it is, but these are the facts of the matter. This case has absolutely 0% chance of going in the plaintiff's favor. Futhermore, I'd imagine that these administrators and the coach are a part of some teaching or coaching organization that will cover at least 1 million dollars each in legal fees. Obviously the kid and her family feel like there were "damages" thus the lawsuit.  Unfortunately, the law is not on their side in this case.
    • Maryville will recapture the loses from last year against West, Bradley and Farragut. The Bearden game will be the tough one but I look for the wheels to come off that ride somewhere down the road because of all the crap that goes on there. I know to many parents there and some of the things I've been told and some of the post a few of them have made on facebook. They all can't be liars.
    • If Heritage moves down and Alcoa moves up the best thing for Heritage is to do what William Blount did when theystopped playing Maryville or meet certain defeat. Honestly can't see Alcoa not moving up the way the county is growing. Might be in the Mountaineers best interest to stay in 5A because none of those teams on their schedule are anything close to Alcoa.
    • I say over as well. Barney, regarding the move to 4A, will the cross-town blowhards move up as well??
