WHAT COACH/SCHOOL

If your son was an 8th grader, 6'0 185, LB/TE, very dominant for his age group, good student-not great, where would you send him in Davidson County to help him develop and prepare best for the next level (college) both on the field and in the classroom.

What matters more, the school or the coach?

Hard decision for me.

Yea send them to MBA is you want them to be, snobbish, and believe they are superior to everyone (like the BigOrange3). That takes you real far in life. Im not saying all are like that but it does seem to be thematic of what is taught at MBA. Otherwise I wouldn't. Believe it or not I would tell you Hillsboro. They have a great coach who is down to earth and yet a hardnosed coach. Hillsboro is one of the best academic institutes in the midstate. You may not believe so but it offers alot of classes others HS don't. But your education is only as good as the effort you put into it. At MBA your son could get lost while Hillsboro he could shine. And dont forget: Alot of $$$$$ VS. Free.

Why would he get lost? Maybe because MBA has so many great young men who are good at football, while making the grades at one of the hardest schools in the state...MBA will teach you son how to be the best person he can. How to be a gentleman, scholar, and then an athlete.

As for FBALLER, he obviously has something against MBA, maybe he could not get in, or maybe got kicked out...I do not think that I am better than anyone for having gone to MBA, I am just trying to help out a man trying to find what is best for his son.

    • We could sure use some math teachers country wide. Ever go into a store or restaurant and the bill comes to $9.97 and you give them a ten dollar bill and 2 pennies because you wanted a nickle back and then the meltdown starts and the next thing two more people have to come and help figure it out and the place comes to a complete halt. I see this everyday and it's a sad representation of all these schools allowing these kids out the door to get shortchanged the rest of their life.
    • I like the Pirates chances. I’ll be there as soon as work allows.
    • Stars, I heard we were searching far and wide for some math teachers. Any chance their kids bench press or 40 times are getting checked? LOL I’ve heard good things from 825.
    • I think it was expected. “Bad” luck I guess to get a couple difference maker QBs in the same class. I thought the decision was made a little early myself, but they were struggling offensively last year.  I assume the running quarterback alco had last year would be a senior this fall, and the transfer would start the following two years in addition to getting a ton of playing time this year. Maybe he waits two yrs, but I doubt it. The kid is good. So is the one who stayed.
    • I'm from Cloudland and we've never played a sectional game.  We need to win tomorrow night to avoid that bus ride.  Us and north greene can play with you guys so I'm expecting good games whoever the matchup is.
