One of the great things about being a momma is that you know kids often say things a little stronger than they really mean. I think what's stands out the most to me is that one of the lead runners of McMinn's team came to the defense of the mother of a runner from a region rival team. And to me that says lots of class. As a parent (and I would imagine it would be the same for a coach) you always want your kid to show class. Win with class, lose with class. It doesn't mean you enjoy losing or that you're not disappointed. I also think having a rival is good. I truly believe that makes all the teams involved better, simply because you work harder. I think it is totally awesome the way McMinn's guys get fired up. It would be easy (but not smart) to be complacent, to take winning for granted. If you can get a winning tradition established then no one wants to be the one who lets the tradition die. What you have to watch out for is that the tradition is taken for granted. I've found that very little in life that is worth having comes without hard work. You guys have worked hard and it shows. Best of luck at state. And I betcha there'll be a couple of Bradley mommas yelling for the McMinn runners to do well at state (course we hope the Bradley runners do well too.)
