Was the Franklin game not this season??? I doubt they could have scored 80 on the Rebs... or Riverdale for that matter.

FHSrebel, I agree with you, and so do most folks in Lincoln County. The Falcon Faithful have the utmost respect for the Franklin Rebels. The Falcons will have to play excellent ball to just to beat either Franklin or Riverdale again. The pressure will definitely be on the Falcons. I think they can score at least four times on anybody...and I'll continue to believe that until somone proves me wrong.

On another note, the Falcon Defense has improved greatly since week 0.

Coach Louis Thompson has been around long enough to know that what goes around comes around, and if the game is in hand, you are only making your own team better by letting your young guys play. This Warren Co. team is down and LC will win by ALOT, but the Falcons will not run up the score. Lincoln County is a very classy team, they have won with style. GO FALCONS!!!

I will agree with you also. Lincoln County would not score 80 on you guys or no one else. Remember, that was the first game of the season, and like inot2bad said, the Falcon 'D" is ten times better than that first game... and I'm sure you would say that Franklin is a better team than that first game also. I think it would be hard for an opposing team to score 30 against this "D"... only if they have a mental breakdown, it might happen.

Lincoln County should go undefeated the rest of the way. They will beat Warren County by a great deal. I'm just praying for no serious injuries before playoff time gets here B)

I think what FHSrebel27 is saying is that LC couldn't score 80 on Franklin. I have to agree. Franklin is a very solid fotball team with great athletes, not to mention a great head coach, who I have heard comes from a very good town B) . I spoke to Coach Johnson after our game in week zero and we shook hands and agreed we would meet again in Murfreesboro in December for a rematch. Talk about a game to begin and end a season with! So far, the chances of that rematch still appear a possibility, although there is a lot of football left to be played and anything can happen, is is proven by Dobynns Bennett losing to Karns Friday night. Good luck Falcons, keep doing what you're doing!!!!.

It's academic that LC could score as many points as they wish against WC. Coach Thompson's rep is such that I would imagine he will let his starters play the first three or four series which will inevitably lead to LC scores before he takes them out of the game. I would be shocked if any of his starters even touched the field in the second half. It will be interesting to see if WC can score late in the game against the benchriders of LC. At this point I am looking for anything positive in WC football. My hope is that late in the game WC's starters can move the ball against LC's scrub players and gain some confidence on offense.

An optimistic prediction

Morale victory for the Pioneers if any of the following happen Friday night:

1. WC scores first or is ahead at any time in the game

2. WC scores twice in the game

3. LC is held to 21 or less in the first half

4. LC is held to less than 40 for the game

5. WC stops LC 3 and out on LC's first possession

6. WC has two big plays in the first half (even if neither is a score, ie. long return, block punt, interception w/long runback, big pass play, etc)

I think the Pioneers start 3 Srs and 3 Jrs on offense and defense. The rest are Soph. and Freshmen. I think they will be looking forward to playing a potential state champion team ...... and playing on really neat grass!

Considering that Warren County will be starting what equals a junior varsity agianst LC, I think they should start with thier 2nd team also. That would be fair. The fresh. and soph. starting now should see the rewards in a year or two.

I understand what you are saying, but I remember several years ago when Lincoln County had a pretty outstanding team...and the starters actually got to play very little. When the playoffs came, they were in trouble. They hadn't had to go the distance and they go beat.

The seniors who have worked so hard for so long deserve to play at least a half. When you tell a senior who has busted his butt over the years that he is now too good to play, something is wrong with that picture. Don't penalize the senior Falcons because Warren County is having a bad year.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
