  1. You can do it Falcons! WE BELIEVE IN YOU!!! Nobody thought we could beat Riverdale in the Clinic Bowl in 1993, and guess what happened? We brought home a giant golden football that night! Use that as your inspiration for tonight's game and go get those Warriors!
  2. LET'S GO FALCONS!!! BEAT THE WARRIORS!!! LCHS alumni, please try your best to go to the game Friday night and show support for the Falcons! Win or lose, tomorrow night's game is the last one to be played at The Pit this year, so you definitely shouldn't miss it!
  3. I don't like to make predictions, but I predict that the Lincoln County Falcons will prove all of their doubters wrong tomorrow night!
  4. I hope all you Falcon fans have picked up a copy of this week's Elk Valley Times! They've got a lot of space devoted to the football team this week. There's a full page of photos from games (some of the players, fans, band, cheerleaders, etc) and a nice article about the Smyrna game. Coach Thompson commented on the problem our special teams had in covering kickoff/punt returns...he said something like they'd work on it this week and try to find some people who "want" to make plays. Interesting choice of words!
  5. Oh yeah, and if you like Mexican food there's also Casa Blanca on the left as you come over Parks City hill.
  6. Another good place to eat south of the school is Marvin's. They have a good buffet and a decent variety of stuff on their menu too. Their parking lot is usually packed! There's also a pizza place in the same building as Piggly Wiggly, but I've never eaten there. Most people say it's good, though.
  7. Seeing someone pick Riverdale to beat Lincoln County isn't much of a shock, but your 28-14 score prediction is pretty bold. The Falcons have had only game all year in which they've scored less than 20 points...Oakland held them to 19 in the first playoff game a few weeks ago, so it can be done but it's been a rare thing for LCHS thus far!
  8. rebel00...haha...yeah, if you don't get to LCHS early you just might have to park at Wal-Mart this Friday night! Or on the grass. Some people park on the grass anyway because it's easier and quicker to get out after the game.
  9. I agree with everyone who has said The Pit will be a major factor in Friday night's game. Last year the Falcons hosted Riverdale at The Pit and somehow managed a 10-9 victory. Never underestimate the power of The Pit! If you don't have any plans this Friday, you should definitely make the trip to Fayetteville to see this game! The atmosphere will be ELECTRIC, and it seems like every time LC and Riverdale get together it's a great game! To whoever said it might be hard for LC to get pumped up about facing an opponent for a second time, that's SOOOO not even a factor for this game! We get pumped up for the Warriors every time we face them!
  10. Okay, at first glance it might have looked like Smyrna brought a huge crowd, because the visitor's side was full. But during the course of the game someone pointed out to me that most of the people on the visitor's side were LC fans...at least two sections. The would stand up and cheer everytime LC did something good. I agree with everyone who said the Falcons have to work on their punt/kickoff coverage this week! We were terrible last night and Smyrna had great field position almost every possession. The Riverdale rematch next Friday will be awesome! Last year when the Warriors came to The Pit, the Falcons came away with a 10-9 victory. We won another close game against them this year at their stadium. Everytime these two get together, we know it's gonna be a game to remember!!!
  11. The fight wasn't really a fight...it was more like an "almost" fight. It happened right after the final play of the game, when LC went after Wolke. From what I could tell, a Smyrna player (sorry, didn't get the number) was the instigator...I don't know which Falcon he was fighting with, but Wolke held his teammate back and broke it up near where the LCHS cheerleaders stand, out of bounds. Whew. I just got back from The Pit. Great game, Smyrna. Good luck next year. Wolke is a good one. Is he a senior? Also, at first I thought Smyrna had brought an amazing crowd with them, because the visitor's side was packed. Then I realized that at least two of those sections were filled with LC fans!
  12. Woohoo, game day is here! I hope the LCHS band will be playing "Rocky Top" early and often tonight, and I hope the LCHS cheerleaders run out of mini-footballs!!! Good luck to all! GO FALCONS!!!
  13. LINCOLN COUNTY!!! Everyone in Fayetteville will be at The Pit to see the Falcons play tomorrow night, even if it is 30 degrees outside.
  14. Big Poppa and 82cat are cracking me up...is that wrong?
  15. Good for them 82cat, but in case you haven't noticed LC has won 11 in a row! Also, if you think that the Falcons don't have any respect for Smyrna, you don't know anything about the LCHS football program. Coach Thompson doesn't allow his players to have that kind of attitude. He has a good group of kids playing for him, and trust me when I say they are focused on tomorrow night's game ONLY. All year long, their mode of thinking has been "one game at a time" whether their opponent was Riverdale or Chattanooga Howard. Their subpar performance against Oakland last Friday was not due to the fact that they were already looking ahead to the next game...just give Oakland credit for coming in a with a good game plan and executing it well. Let's see if Smyrna can do the same thing this week. Bundle up if you're coming to the game tomorrow! It's going to be a cold night at THE PIT!!!
  16. Just wanna say I'm looking forward to a great game at THE PIT this Friday night, and hopefully the Falcons will come out on top! After the Patriots gave us such a tough time, I'm pretty convinced that if we are to make it to the state championship game, our defense will be what carries us there! Our opponents might figure out how to keep our offense in check, but our defense will keep us in the game. They usually come up with big plays when they need to! One more thing...congrats to Oakland for giving the Falcons a challenge! We LCHS faithful were shaking in our boots (and not just because we were cold! ).
  17. Every Lincoln County game is broadcast on Fayetteville's 105.5 FM.
  18. FYI--Friday night's game is "Senior Night" for Lincoln County, so maybe Coach Thompson will leave his seniors out there longer than he has in past weeks despite the score (if it does get lopsided in LC's favor). But then again, you wouldn't want to risk injury either.
  19. Lincoln County is not 10-0...right now they stand at 9-0. Their last game is this Friday night against Cumberland County.
  20. Wow...a lot of people giving the love to Phil Collins. I never would have thought people would listen to "In The Air Tonight" to get pumped up for a football game. Whenever I hear it, I think of that old Tom Cruise movie, "Risky Business". Whatever works, I guess!!!
  21. Aunt Sherry, thanks for giving everyone the update on Ryan's condition. HAPPY BIRTHDAY RYAN! May God bless you & your family.
  22. I posed this question in another thread, but I don't think anyone ever responded...will Lincoln County have home field advantage throughout the playoffs if they end up with the best record? Thanks
  23. Last year, when Lincoln County beat Riverdale 10-9 in "THE PIT"...also when LC beat Riverdale for the state championship in 1993 (my sophomore year).
