Not benefiting from personal knowledge about each and every team in the quarterfinals, I have to rely on statistics (not just wins and losses, but a whole lot other things, goals made, goals allowed, etc) to make a prediction. Statistics is what got each team there (yeah, I know... statistics didn't play the games, but they tell the tale of the game), so if each team continues to play "their" game, here's what I predict for the quarter finals:

Franklin beats Blackman

Farragut beats Cordova

Hendersonville beats Collierville

Oak Ridge beats Tullahoma

for the Semi-Finals, my prediction is:

Farragut beats Franklin

Hendersonville beats Oak Ridge

and for the finals:

Hendersonville beats Farragut

Good Luck to each and every one in the tournament. Play Hard and Have Fun. Each one of you deserves to be where you are. Make Tennessee High School Soccer Proud!

hey futbolphan....

WOW. Based on STATISTICS??? Let me see here...

I do believe that Tullahoma's statistics were listed HERE which state that Tullahoma has:

District Titles: 9 years in a row

Regional Titles: 6 years in a row

State Appearances: 4 Years in a row (most recent being State Finalists)

Record: 17-2-1

Out scored Opponents: 103-12 this year

13 shut outs

not just wins (17) or losses (2), but goals made (103) and goals allowed (12)...

Now, I'm not an expert on Oak Ridge's stats (they weren't posted) but does any one think you might be underestimating Tullahoma?

I'll keep my opinoins of the state tournament to myself, because who knows what the game-day will bring? Providing each team plays their best, I think it will be a great tournament... As also said, each team DESERVES to be there.

Hey, reccos, lighten up your crowing about your team Tullahoma. It seems you were offended and you shouldn't have been.

Tullahoma's stats are based on weak competition and weak region. I have seen Tullahoma play the last 4 years at Finley. Only once (last year) did they look like a team that "deserved" to be there. Sorry, Tullahoma fans. I think your days are numbered at Finley. Prove me wrong.

Of course I am biased but you have to remember that 4 of the Tullahoma starters were freshman last year. They do have one more year under their belt which always helps. I certainly would not want to be the one to look every girl in her face and tell her that after working hard, practicing hard, playing hard and winning games plus traveling one and a half hours one way three days a week in the off season to play club soccer for improvement that they do not deserve to be where they are. If it is a matter of a small town school amoungst big city schools, then maybe tssaa should re-vamp the AAA class that the small towns are in. I dont know what the solution is but EVERYONE deserves a chance and the ones that are there are there for a reason. It is one thing to beat teams when you have such a large pool of players. but it is a definite accomplishment to beat teams when you can barely field a team! It would be great to quit dissing any of the teams that have made it and instead wish each and every girl on every team the best of luck. Play hard and play fair and if you dont make it any further, be proud of what you accomplished.

I do want to offer this to the Tullahoma program and supporters. I follow McMinn Co. soccer (Athens area). Therefore, I know how hard it is to develop any kind of competitive soccer program while being away from any major urban or suburban area. The kids that do develop locally feel they have to head off to the "city lights" to get good club team opportunities (that's a separate discussion in its own right). My hat is of to y'all. I believe that Tullahoma has done a remarkable job considering their remoteness to major metro areas. Hands down, the best in the state, in my opinion. Continued success in "off the beaten path areas" is built upon hard work, good organization, a good off-season club team/program, and good coaching. Apparently, y'all have all of these.

Yes, I saw last year's final and felt that Tullahoma most deservedly earned the right to play for the title. To be honest, based on what I saw at last year's semis, I am very surprised to see Oak Ridge's success this year.

Tullahoma should be very proud of their program and past success(es). Personally, I wish them luck against the "city folks".
