Can anyone stop those Falcons?

It appears not...

A few from CC seemed to think they could at least stay in the game with the Falcons... My suggestion was to hold them to 50 or less or to at least stay within 5 touchdownsl.... They could do neither...of course, that's nothing to be too upset with if you're a Jet fan... lots of other decent teams have been steamrolled by Lincoln Co this year... and it appears they are not through yet...

The Falcons seemed to be a well oiled machine at this point... Hope they can keep the momentum...

I thought the Jets offense played well, especially in the first half - they kept our defense off balance and scored early. They ran a couple of plays that the Falcon defense had a hard time adjusting to.

Also, the Jets have some sophomores and juniors with alot of potential - they'll contend for the region title next year.

Way to go Falcons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Keep on D'oh-ing it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My hats off to Cumberland Co., they never quit, and on their first drive they did something that no-one else this year has done, score on the first team L.C. defense in the first Qt.

Franklin Scored in the 1st. qt. but that was a fumble recovery in the end zone after a fumbled punt. C.C. had 1 play that worked pretty darn good for them on their first drive, but the Falcons adjusted to it and pretty much stopped it the rest of the night.

If anyone was worried about Michael Edmiston's passing, if they saw the game then they shouldn't be too worried now. Michael finished the night 4 of 6 for 114 yards and of the 2 incompletions that he threw, one looked like a catch in the back of the endzone by Josh Gregory but it was ruled incomplete, saying he was out of bounds. The other a 50+ yard pass was only inches out of Joey Miller's reach.

Michael finished the night rushing the ball only 7 times, for 108 yards. 2 tds rushing the ball and threw for 2 tds. also.

Tailback Josh Gregory had 81 yards on only 11 carries, and looked like in the second half that he was beginning to recover from the ankle injury that kept him out of 1 qame a couple of weeks ago. He also scored 2 tds. rushing.

Backup tail-back Chanze Bryson had 120 yards rushing, on 8 carries. Top tackler on defense was Theo Horrocks, with 7 tackles, 6 for losses.

Now, we will see who we play next in the first round of the playoffs. ;)

another 50+ point game the Falcon offense!!! And another game were the powerful Falcon defense gives up less than 2 scores. But what impresses me was the ability for the falcon defense to adjust to the CC offense. CC came out with a pretty powerful offensive running game that shocked me. But while the defense was learning the offensive scem that CC had, the offense was busy putting up 7's like they have all year. All in all this was a pretty typical Falcon Friday Night, here in Fayetteville. If you haven't got Falcon Fever by now i dont know what to tell you. Its not going to be easy in the playoffs. the falcons have got a long row to hoe, from here on out. But if all goes well here in Falcon Country looks like alot more people will be getting Falcon Fever. Hey Underwood get well kid we need you in the playoffs. GOOOO!!!! FALCONS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Coach Thompson must have heard my cries this week when I said to work on the passing game. Michael looked real good throwing the ball last night. They will need the passing game if they are to advance far in these playoffs. Lincoln County is pumped up and ready for the big show! They really impressed me last night.

Cumberland County came out fired up! I must say that you run the Wing T offense very well. You had our defense on their heels the first quarter. You are a very well coached team. If most of your players are coming back next year, you will be hard to handle. Your QB runs the offense very well, and you have good team speed.

That was nice of your cheerleaders and the players on the field getting down on their knee(s ) when one of our young men was injured! Class ACT!!!

GO ALL THE WAY FALCONS!

Big D, I agree with that fine post of yours. Cumberland County came to play and surprised EVERYONE in Fayetteville the first quarter with the gaping holes they made in the LC vaunted defensive line. My hats off to Cumberland County. They were impressive, but the sad thing is that with their being as impressive as they were, the score was 21-7 at the end of the first quarter and 40-7 at the half. Even so, I was impressed with how disciplined they were and how well they ran their offense. It is just almost impossible to keep up that intensity when you see the scoreboard going the wrong way for your team.

I especially agree with the class they showed when the LC player got hurt. How is he today?

    • Groves got the ball over 20+ times. His son arguably played the best for East in that game. 3rd and long multiple times and he came up big to continue a couple drives. Please shut up for the 3rd year in a row
    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
