tennvol
These look pretty good to me Silverbullet. However, I think Boyce is not really championship caliber. He should be around the 5 or 6 place ranking. I know he beat once West once last year but I think West may had beaten Boyce twice. That loss was just a bad match. Also Boyce lost to Bobby Hale last year who did not even place. In the finals, Boyce was killed by Bosken, when I had seen much closer matches between him and wrestlers who did not place. Boyce had a lucky draw which had a huge part in putting him in the finals.
hounddog
Who is Messimer (103) Rhea Co? Must be a freshman. Who is Lively (112) Greenback? I knew they had a Lively at 125, but not 112. Maybe another Freshman? Who is Wells (119) Dobb Ben? Do you mean McMackin? What weight was Zeits from Seymore last year. I do not believe he was at state at 125, but you have him ranked there. Who is O'Niel (125) from D. Ben. Was he at state? Another freshman??? Are you ranking last year's seniors. I hope not. Perry (145) Clarksville was a senior as was Jones (215) Clarksville. I also believe that Northington (145) Springfield was a senior. Also, how do you have Evins (145) Montgomery Central in there? Did he even go to state last year? It helps to do research before you do rankings! These are not all of the things that I found to be troubling about your rankings, but I am tired of typing! jgannonnvp
Jone(215) is a Senior this year but R Weakley(135) and Perry(145) were Seniors last year.
hounddog
Ok. I may be wrong about Jones, but I thought he was a senior last year.

LovinIt
Silverbullet I hate it you stuck your neck out to give YOUR OPINION of the rankings only to have your head cut off. If people would only understand these are only opinions and they are not written in stone for the state finals, it would be so much more pleasant. As for myself I enjoy reading your predications each year! Edited November 5, 2003 by LovinIt
sly
LovinIt, Whats funny is the guy (hounddog) who was cutting off head was wrong too! It goes to show we shouldn't take this stuff too personal. Edited November 5, 2003 by sly
voleagle
In response to these rankings, I think it is obvious that silverbullet has included many wrestlers who have already graduated. Not to mention a couple of kids who did not even wrestle their senior year. I do enjoy preseason rankings however and will soon post mine. But in response to 112 I must say this.. Justin Campbell of Union County was Region 2 champ, pinning Abercrombie. Lively of Greenback was a 119 and i don't think he even qualified for state. Ailor of Halls graduated, but did not wrestle his senior year. There is also a few Heritage kids ranked, when only one qualified to state.. I think it would be in agreement that a kid (with exception of 103) needs to have qualified to state before in order to be ranked in top 10. hounddog
Sly, I said I may be wrong about Jones (215). I did not say that I was wrong. I am doing some checking. I just suggest that some research be done before the rankings are done. If I am going to spend time reading them I would at least like to know that they are all still in high school. If we are going to include graduates then we need to start a new thread.
