Can the Bucs Do IT Again

Boydie needs to do it the first time before they can do it again! :P

The Pirates beat Boydie 4 times in a 14 month span, 1998 & 1999.

So, if they can beat the Pirates Friday night, beat them in the regular season next year and knock them out of the playoffs next year and win a state title in the process, they will be EVEN with the Pirates. Sounds easy to me!!!!!!

I agree, the name of this thread should be, "Can the Bucs Do IT". Maybe you could have asked, "Can CPA Do IT Again", but we all know the answer to that is "NO". My question is: with CPA out, who then becomes the favorite to win it all. The Elite Eight looks like:

CAK-proved everyone wrong in the first two rounds

Greenback-relieved to see someone other than Cloudland in quarterfinals

Boyd Buchanon-happy to see CPA eliminated

South Pittsburgh-looking forward to rematch with Boyd

DCA-got revenge on CPA, now can't afford a letdown

Ezell-Harding-would love to win their second title in 3 years

Fayette Academy-trio of athletes make them dangerous to pull an upset

Trinity Christian-proved me wrong in the first two rounds

This year's playoffs has been filled with upsets, so I think you have to give everbody a shot. The lower seeded teams have won 10 of the 24 games thus far. We also still have two (4) seeds in CAK and Trinity and a (3) seed in Fayette Academy. These teams have defied the odds thus far in the playoffs and the question is will they still be able to.

I agree with all these except for the boyd. Boyd would have loved to have a rematch with cpa. Settle and old score if u will. But we would be glad to play against anybody if we make it to state. Got to get past south pitt first though.

I would guess that Friendship Christian, South Pittsburg, Gordonsville and other teams in the east half of the class A bracket are licking their chops at the prospect of playing an overconfident BBS team. To suggest that anyone has a free run to Murfreesboro is not only foolish, it may be self-defeating. There are some disappointed teams at home this week to prove it!

One game at a time. FCS will be tough enough as it is!

Why do u say Boyd is overconfident. Maybe the fans are but i assure u none of the players are. They are focuseed and ready. FCA proved not to be a test except maybe in the passing game. boyd is ready for south pitt.

Alex Jones I played for South Pittsburg 96-99, you were garbage!! WE TOOK BOYD TO THE WOODSHED TWICE!! REMEMBER THAT!! ALSO WENT 15-0 BEATING 2 DEFENDING STATE CHAMPS AND BEAT THE 1-A CHAMPS FROM ALABAMA (COURTLAND). THIS YEARS BOYD AND LAST YEARS BOYD WOULD HAVE NOT STAYED ON THE FIELD WITH THE 98 or 99 PIRATES PERIOD!! That first game we played you in 99 you almost surprised us coming out in all new formations, UNTIL WE TOOK IT 90 YARDS DOWN YOUR THROAT TO WIN! THEN IN PLAYOFFFS AGAIN!

THE THOUGHT OF YOU TACKLING EDDIE MOORE OR SAM PICKETT MAKES ME CRINGE!

You are bragging about four years ago. If you even went to college, by now you should be at least close to graduation, and now you're talking about how you beat up a 15 year old kid four years ago?? Grow up and forget the past. Anyways, I think that Boyd could take home their first Championship ring this year, but now we need to think about driving it down the throats of South Pittsburg. After that, we're still only in the Semis. The finals are three weeks off, and we need to remember that.

as usual, this has degraded into a trash forum. i agree with the previous comment that the actual players are not the ones that are overconfident, though i could be wrong. its probably some insecure students that are making fools of themselves. or, its the graduated players and fans that have not yet figured out that their time as athletes is over. the only people that matter now are the players. i think its great that both programs have, or are starting to have, successful programs. its a shame that ignorant comments give all participants a bad reputation.

i'd like to know what the keys to winning will be for both teams. in my opinion, the margin for error in this game is minimal. it may come down to one turnover, one extra point, or one bad snap. if you ask me, it doesn't get much better than this.

also, its 1:00 on thursday and chair space around the bbs field is already limited. there are several rows that have already been filled. get here early if you want a decent seat.

Hey Timmy50. I never could find you in the playoff programs. I looked for a Timmy that was number 50, but I could never find one. Did ya'll not make it to the playoffs? Or is your name Timmy and your 50 years old? Talk to me TinyTim talk to me. I think this game is gonna be a classic. Two great teams on the same field. I have seen several posts saying Boyd would win by 21-35 points. The first meeting was 14-6 with under 5 minutes to play. Take away the turnovers by both teams and it is really even. 21-14 either way.

What do you mean? I just do not see this game being as close as people think. The first time we played we lost our TB for the last 3 quarters, plus now we have 2 AllState lineman back. Whitt and Payne make a HUGE difference up front. They really make the running game better. I think we will wear South Pittsburg down and win the game something like.

Boyd Buchanan 38 South Pittsburg 13

    • Gravedigger gotta finish filling the hole before hitting 40 East. May need a new Yellow Shirt play signaler on the Stones. And apparently a new strength coach now. Cicadas must've got shaken out of the bushes in Donelson. Hopefully the mower man sticks around to keep DG field looking pristine. Maybe new OC can call in a favor to his PGA friends that knows a thing or two about being green during the season. The heat is on soon. Bring in the 2 way freak Iceman and cool things off. He knows a thing or 2 about wildcats. Gotta take our talents South soon for Nationals. Don't step on my blue suede shoes.
    • I think this goes on a lot more than most people know, maybe not finishing an entire geometry class in 90 minutes. This situation seems special.
    • Clint and Blake sitting at home right now after Sunday service having a family discussion.   Pork Chops and Greens on the menu, and maybe some cookies and milk for a snack later.   Clint probably told him he sucked and ruined the legacy, and would be right.   The next HC sits in MJ, but wears blue, JMO.
