CAK beat very respectable teams like Cloudland, Greenback, and Midway and lost to the State Champs. I think atleast 2 of the 4 could play at any high school.

I am not taking anything away from CAK...I was simply stating that 4 players from any school is a stretch.

I realize the team is purely your opinion...My opinion is that your team looks silly and very biased and unresearched.

I know everyone from knoxville is proud of their schools but I buy and read the news-sentinel and like to read about the good players form my towns school as well the other surrounding towns. the all east tenn or knoxville area all-stars would give more deserving players some recognition. I know you are proud of yours but we are proud of ours also .

There are many players that are all-stars on the team that they play for, but might not be for other teams or leagues. I do think that CAK had a great year, and that they played some respectable teams. The thing I do have to say is how many of those 4 players would start for most of the teams in the KIL? That could also be said for many other teams in the KIL that had all-star picks. For instance who would be the starting running back Cassen Jackson or Albert Harris? If you took Zack Helton from Central, and Brett Stanton from Carter, would they beat out the the Qb at Catholic, CAK, Farragut, Bearden, etc? I do agree with the level of competition being a huge factor. Could CAK play at the level that Fulton, AE, Central, Powell, Halls, Carter, Farragut, Bearden, etc., play at?

    • One final thought. Coach Keith claims he was not aware of the player's failing grades. I won't comment on that, just to say this, IF he did not, whose job was it to see that this kid did not play ball at CHS? That person should be looking for a job and they might be, I don't know.
    • They have fired the principal, 2 teachers, at least 1 counsellor and 1 coach so far. I don't see it from my view in Oak Ridge as a coach thing, he  was just implicated in asking 1 teacher to  fix 1 kid's grades.   In our local media(Clinton and Oak Ridge)the principal is who is the originator and pusher of the fraud. The others are peripheral. The coach isn't even the big story, just here on a sports site.  The media view is the principal did it to cause CHS to be seen as excellent by the state. He committed fraud to do that so he might spend a little time in jail IF that is valid.
    • And from coach himself, he wasn’t told he was let go because of the ineligible player.    that’s just what the schools needed to happen to fit their bull
    • Wish it was made clear before a coach gets let go or not retained instead of being sold as the reason he was in trouble. I was told the kids who got grades changed, 97% or better were non athletes but the coach is taking all the heat so the schools can pretend it wasn’t their job to know. heck, what do you think could happen when you hire husband and wife as head principal and head guidance….   that’s not being said though…
    • Hmmmmm……doe dee doe doe.  Last time I came up there to watch my pirates one of those guys in that pickup trucks flattened the tires on the lawnmower.  This is payback.  You can bet the lawnmower on that.
