TyFry
Here is the Single A TSWA All-State team. I guess it is just another coincidence that it is dominated by private schools. How do they just keep getting these great athletes? No accusations, just wondering. TheEgoHasLanded
It's not that surprising when you think about how many more kids are on a team at a private school. Let's say a private school has 50 kids and a public school has 30-35...Sure private schools might only make up 20% of the total schools in 1A but when your teams are one and a half times the size of a public school...that 20% isn't as glaring. When you look at Cloudland, a school that regularly has 50 kids on a team...they are well represented on the All State list with 4 players. silverpie
Hmm.... I find it interesting to say the least that while the privates dominated on defense, the publics had the majority on offense.

You have got to be kidding. Using your numbers of 50 on a private school team and 35 on a public school team, it still doesn't work out. There are four times as many public as privates. That's a 4:1 ratio. Let's do the math. 4 x 35 = 140 1 x 50 = 50 That means private schools should have 26% of the winners. There are 38 on the all-state team. That means, using your numbers that about 10 should be from private schools and 28 should be from public schools. The actual results are: Public schools have 14 Private schools have
TyFry
Don't argue Tacoma. Numbers don't mean a thing. We just know that private schools don't have an advantage. They just work harder and have better coaches. You public schools should quit complaining and try to reach the level of the private single A schools. Someday you will understand. You will be enlightened like the private school supporters.
beethoven
I can't wait for that great and glorious day of enlightenment. I'm sure Ronnie and The T$$AA are working up a press conference now.
TheEgoHasLanded
Hey, I'm not saying privates don't have an advantage...I can think of advantages both ways. You people just won't admit that public schools have advantages too. If you are willing to put a multiplier on ALL open zoned schools, then I'm a happy camper. I don't really like us doing it, but I at least think it is more fair than seperating schools.

GregC
Have you ever heard of a free education? No one is forcing you not to take advantage of this 'free' education. Edited December 30, 2003 by GregC
