Being Pretty hard on the MVP of the your football state championship game..lol

Is he that big of a distraction?

Bell is a good kid. He's too reckless and emotional on the court. That was a plus for him on the gridiron but you got to be in control on the hardwood. He has no coaching. With his speed he should be driving to the basket and looking to dish the ball if he doesn't have the open layup. I agree with the poster who said we need to be going inside with the ball. Hillsman is a monster inside( and the only player I've noticed who really seems to care) Kenneth you need to impose your will on this team.... and Chris Donald jumps out of the gym. Chris is playing timid on offense...he needs to be fed the ball in the low post to get him over this. Donald is a weapon even without scoring because he can control the glass. John Thomas is probably the best pure shooter that has been through HTown in a long time.....He just does it whether he's open or not. All this is indicative of coaching, I don't think anybody thinks we have bad kids.

How soon we forget, hero to goat. Bell was Huntingdon's savior in football and could do no wrong. Now he needs to be sitting on the bench for showboating and he did the same thing in football. The guy has always been a showboater but Huntingdon was winning and it was ok. Now you have some of his biggest fans from Huntingdon sreaming for his hide. We live in a flaky world!

Nobody is screaming for Bell's hide, we are screaming for the coaches hide.

MAJOR step forward tonight. Good things happen when you trap press, with Bell, Thomas, Hampton and Atkins we should have enough speed and depth to do this entire games. Terrence played hard tonight AND for the most part was under control. Big game from Chris Donald and Hillsman. I will even give some props to Morris. Xavier Webb is a MONSTER.

Way to go Mustangs on your win over West Carroll!!!!!! This is a good example of how unity= a win. I understand Coach Morris has tightened the reigns somewhat on his mustangs. This is a step in the right direction but I feel maybe he has ventured too far off coarse to ever get back what he has lost with his players. As for some of the previous posts, I do not feel anyone was picking on any one player. We were merely pointing out the fact that these players were taking control of their own team. The coach has let that happen. If Terrance Bell, or any other player, had even once talked to Coach Mansfield the way they do Coach Morris they would have been benched no questions asked. The fact is they did not because they knew the consequences. A child will try to get away with what you allow them to. Coach Morris has allowed his players to go too far. Now he is trying to get control back. It may be too late for the older players but he may have a chance with the younger ones. The B-team played a good game last night also. He has some young talent that is waiting to be unleashed. It is up to Coach Morris to lead them to the right direction. I hope what I hear is true and he is going to crack down and be a leader for these boys. Good luck Mustangs.

Ive been to a couple of ballgames and i have never seen a coach that has so much talent on a team and has no idea what to do next..I agree with you mood please bring back Joe Dan Wooten or maybe Paul Newman they would not put up with all the disrespect that is going on with the team..I know that for a fact

I believe that I have already said they will win the district. Friday night's win helped them move closer to that goal. It did not hurt that West Carroll was a little leg weary from Thursday night's game agianst a pesky Clarksburg team. Can Morris really lose his job if they finish first and go to the region as number one?

I will reiterate. Huntingdon Should be DOMINANT playing single A basketball.

Huntingdon pressed in the first half last night. Even if it was against Big Sandy.

Looks like the Coach has got alot more control of the players but not total control.

Still putting up the 3's when there are open players in the post. When you have a 30 point led starting the 4 qt. there is no need to keep the starters in the game and have players twist there ankle. The players that came off of the bench played well with the time that they got on the floor. And why did Bell and Thomas try the alley-oop? That was a joke. Keep the press on and you will get turn overs. Keep going to the basket and get the other team into foul trouble.

    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
