sjcbudda
I think centennial has one of the best teams in the state. They have many great wrestlers. Stuart Cope at 103. Ryan Dros. at 112. CHad at 135. Vince BUrch at 140 Jacob Randolf at 152. Jeremy Jones at 171. Daniel Aires at 189 and KEvin cox at 215. They place in most of the tournaments even though they forfeit a few weight classes. They came close to franklin. I think they have a solid team. IN a few years Centennial will top franklin with the help of coach nikazy.
wrestlingfan
Good for them! Seriously. It is hard when you don't have a full team to stay positive and focused. I wish them well. One (and there are many more) of the great things about the sport of wrestling is it is a TEAM sport as well as an INDIVIDUAL sport. So, even if the team as a whole does not do well (maybe because it isn't a full team), the individuals can still shine in the individual tournaments! Good Luck to all. Wrestling4Life
I wrestled Jacob Randolf in the semis at the centennial tournament last year, he's a good wrestler.
knatdog
Centennial does have a decent team yes, but there are many teams i think are the same caliber as them. Many of the guys that were named above are good wrestlers, but i saw some of them get beat this weekend in the semifinals. Franklin is a tough team, but yes they are beatable. However, in a few years, Centennial won't be the only team improving, i'm sure teams like Franklin will be also.
CoachDelgado
Franklin has become a top level program in recent years. John Hill has done a great job bringing them back to prominence. As far as Centennial is concerned, they are lead by Chad Nikazy, another member of the Simpson connection. Chad wrestled for Frank Simpson at Hendersonville and was state champ in 1993. I wonder how many people in the wrestling community are directly connected to the Simpson family (wrestled for them or coached with them) before taking on coaching positions or officiating. If interested, start a new thread possibly titled "6 degrees of the Simpson clan". Edited January 12, 2004 by CoachDelgado
EChason
I agree that Centennial will have a team to be reckoned with in the near future. Williamson County is striving to build a strong wrestling community, and we are starting with our little kids. I was not able to make the trip to CBHS for the duals, but I did go by the Cougar Classic. It is always great to see kids that I've watched on the mats over the years. I cheer for some of those (Freedom Stars) Cougars every chance I get. They had a great tournament this weekend! I'm glad they have a great coach this year, and hope to see him working with our off season wrestling during the spring & summer. I haven't personally met him, but I've heard a lot of good things about their program this year!
