Yes, it's a very big decision, and yes, tons of people are watching with their own interests in mind. It may not be right, but recruiters aren't always doing the right things either. In one particuliar case I know of, the head coach offered this high school player. He told him to take his time and make a few visits to other schools and then let him know. The player did that! Then when he called to commit the coach said he didn't have a offer any more.
