Points of interest from a blue perspective:

-Cleveland bumps up to wrestle Lane. Score was 2-1 with 15 seconds left with Cleveland on top. He spins to the front and goes to the head looking for back points for the win. Slips off and gives up the reversal for the final score. 3 different times in the match Cleveland tilts Lane for a 1 count but never secures back points.

-Rudolph still unable to compete due to skin rash.

-215 was exciting. After an active 1st period, Green goes for a Muchang. It looks like he's got it, then not, then he's got it again, but finally not and Henderson gets the pin. Its nice to see young guys open up and try things, nothing ventured nothing gained.

-275 was fun. Shadrick appears to be in the 260-270 range while Moore is 210 or so. Both guys on their backs in the 1st. From their feet in the 2nd, Moore shoots a double, gets sprawled down, keeps driving forward till Shadrick goes to his back and secures the pin. Hops up so excited he about knocks the official down.

-Controversy at 112. Score is tied with about 8 seconds left. Toney shoots in deep and is getting very close to securing the TD and the win. The crowd is very loud. With 2 seconds left, the official appears to think time had expired and blows the whistle. The clock and the wrestlers stop and there is confusion as to whether or not a TD is to be awarded. No points given and it goes to OT.

-My biggest surprise of the match was at 119. Will Young is his 3rd varsity event gets a 5 point hip toss on the experienced and extremely thin Fuller then wrestles even for the rest of the match to win.

This was an exciting match between two very good and well coached teams. Blair and Manley were very impressive. Even though he lost to Lane I thought Cody Cleveland wrestled great and was on the attack the entire match . Kyle James looked great and worked his tail off to get a pin but the McCallie kid did what he had to do to secure the win for his team. The crowd was OK but I had thought there would have been more fans there for this big match up of Chattanooga wrestling powers. Both of these teams will be a hand full come February.
