Mr. Smith got a T for stareing down Loretto's Michael Kendrick. Tyler hung on the rim and nobody was below him. It was for show, admit it.

Mr. Ashworth had a good right to shoot yall a bird if he did. I cant blame him with some of the things yall were yelling.

The boys were instructed to take that charge if tyler or anyone tried to go up for a lob. It worked.

Great game by both teams.

um...there was someone right under tyler when he was hanging on the rim. if you noticed he was hanging there looking down, and he let go when the guy moved...you must of been at a different game?

Anonymousballer, thanks for the props to our students section. Pageman i was the other guy w/ wneely that shook your hand and w/ the hard hat.You are going to be able to make it to the Page vs. GCHS game right?Giles played a great game with almost the whole team scoring at least 1 point. The reason that Tyler got a T was uncalled for, he was just hanging there so the guy would get out of the way. Our student section, I think, did the best that we've done all year. We stayed in the players head the whole game.

Guys...Tyler deserved the T...he was trash talking to Kendrick after the foul and the dunk. I could see it plain as day...he needed that T. It doesn't matter if someone was under him or not, the play was over when the whistle blew...he continued to dunk the ball and talk smack...he got T'D...end of story. He does it every game, he was caught in this game.

As for the overall performance, it was pretty impressing. Shay was hot. Zach ran the point as it should be ran. Tyler got settled down, after the officials cooled his jets. From that point on, it was smooth sailing for GC. Channing looked a bit out of sync tonight and for all of those who criticize my post, Zach proved why his name is called at the beginning of each game...Mr. Consistency. Good job guys.

Yes, MattL12, I will be at the Page/Giles Co. game on Friday in Pulaski. I'm writing my coach's report now in preparation. I want to thank the students and posters of Giles Co. for the PageMan chant & the sign - "PageMan is My Daddy" score3 told me about them and I wish I had come down and said something to all of you. In the noise & chaos during the game, I sometimes miss what the crowd is doing. Although I'm not really anybody's daddy from Giles Co., I would be proud to have anyone of you as my offspring. Your student section showed great spirit - keep it up - it really adds something to the game. Looking forward to seeing you all again and this time I'll make the effort to notice your signs and chants.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
