Looks like the District Championship for District IX is up for grabs this week. Friday Warren Co. will travel to Smyrna High to try to break Smyrna's 3 year unbeaten streak in the District.

 

Will Warren Co be able to do it? I think they can, their team looks really strong while Smyrna has been up and down all season?

It'll be a great match up. But don't forget Ravenwood will be there to. And since it is at Smyrna they can choose which teams wrestle first.

 

If you go by the brentwood Tourney scores Smyrna had 78 to WC's 35.

 

WC had 8 guys go 0-2.

Smyrna had 6 guys go 0-2 but didn't have a Heavy or a 130.

 

I think the matches will lean towards Smyrna but the team score will be closer if they do forfeit 2 weight classes.

Smyrna will be at full strength on Friday. We had to leave two spots empty at Brentwood and put 2 JV guys in the line-up. It looks as though all our guys will be ready for Friday.

 

Chris Brooks will be back

David Sirising will be back

Brian Dedmon will also be back.

 

We knew that Warren Co. would be our biggest challenge this year. I just hope it turns out the way we want it to.

      Richland plays at McKenzie on Wed.  Should be a good series.  Does Richland have good pitching?

      Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.

      I heard Alabama was at Antioch practice and Colorado has offered QB. Hoping the Bears have a great year.
