That game was also a good argument for a shot clock- if a team down by one has to start fouling with over a minute left, somethings wrong....hope the TSSAA fixes that.

I missed the game (one of the few CPA games I missed, so I can't comment on the reffing, except to say high school refs are typically not very good anyway. I don't think it is a bias to one team - they just aren't very good.

What is funny is your comment about the need for a shot clock as a FRA fan. Their whole offense is built around slowing the game down and using up clock. And they do a good job at it. I don't think their coach would agree with you.

If there was a shot clock, we would still use a lot of clock by working the entire shot clock down and then shooting at the end. If the TSSAA instituted a shot clock, it would be pretty long- so I dont think it would speed us up much.

I realize thats refs are bad both ways, but because CPA was good at leaning into shots and drawing contact, they got more shooting fouls called for them.

Some very interesting talk...Have not seen Moore Co this year..have seen Forrest..I would be very suprised if Forrest makes it out of Region. Gomab's favorite player Jenkins is good, but not that good, maybe I caught him on an off night.

Wayne County, Perry County, and Mt Pleasant have impressed me much more than Forrest...Just my honest opinion..

I'm liking Goodpasture right now even though they aren't playing as well as i thought they would be. Also CPA, FRA, DCA, and even Ezell are contenders all from Region 5. In the S+S rankings CPA, FRA, McEwen, NCS, and Goodpasture are all in the top 20 (not that that means anything). Pickett is looking good as well as Forrest and Mt. Pleasant. I think CCS is the best team in their region, and Halls in theirs, possibly Lake Co. JCS in the west, if im thinking correctly. I don't know much really, but just some ideas for debate.

    • Good ole Bradley Zulliger. He was a really good QB @ OR. Fun to watch.  Wore #15 and was like a mini Tebow, with the exception of being right handed. He could take a pounding and keep on ticking. Played with a collapsed lung against Powell that year. Tough as nails.
    • They should be pretty good in year two for Rang.  Replacing most of the offensive production losing Dozier, Hayward and Rembert , but they're are skill kids in place ready for their shot.  I know I say this every year, but the o line should show improvement after two years in Rang and Kevin Day's weight program.  I still would favor West over Plow and OR come November.  The Rebs will have to grow up a bunch between now and then, and will probably take some lumps along the way with that schedule.  But I predict come playoff time they will be ready.   One of their coaches half joked to me that they could go 5-5 regular season and win the state championship.  Ha ha.
    • there will be a couple of teams, that could make some noise
    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
