irishdad- what happened with starting the clock 5 seconds late in the taylor tate- nick myers match. seemed a little fishy. there is no doubt u started the clock late in that match. great job there

I was trying to changing the score board to reflect the scores on top and individual on teams fouls....I thought I had tims attention to let me make the change..I was wrong.

i just want to say this is the most retarded argument i have seen on this board in along time. as a former wrestler you have to accept that in matches like this one you leave the opportunity to let the match be decided by the official. you leave a chance for the match be decided on a call that cant please everone. this is a tough position for an official to be in. and as for all of you no this board who are blaming the timer what is wrong with you. officials are paid to call matches that is why he is the one who makes the call and no one else. irishdad is no more related to this than any one elts at the mach. he flips a switch and when time runs out a horn sounds, lest get mad at the fans for being to loud maybe it there fault. the call rest totally on the officials shoulders. he made the call at the time and he didn't find enough reasons to change is first decision. i think it better that way when officials stick with what they first called if they are unsure. i was at the match, personal i think jimmy should have been give an escape and that is it. although it stinks i am sure both sides realize that this happens when matches are left in an officials hands. it has happen to jimmy it has happen to william and if you have wrestled for any length of time it has happen to you. i think ever one need to stop looking for some one to blame because it not fair to the sport. it was a great match and it is over.

Irishdad..... If you will reference the thread Thanks Irishdad, It is situations like this that I was trying to discuss with you concerning your braggedocio etc. on this very match. That thread has come back to haunt you. Now in your defense Im certain that this is an honest mistake. No matter hw much you love your Irish there is no way I believe you would Intentionally affect the outcome of a match. But your attitude on the board that you say the dunnings and simpsons approve of, and that the rest of the posters were taking too seriously has jumped up and bitten you in the ---. For those attacking, forget it ,it was an honest mistake. For you Irishdad, this is why you dont provoke and aggravate those who are in alliance with another team. Many will always think you had an intent in the outcome of this match. I doubt that the dunnings and simpsons are as amused with the whole thing now.

Bravo. If you had come on to the board with humble discussion with the MBA people, they would be a lot more understanding. Like the messenger, I don't believe you would do something as blatantly wrong and unfair as to disrupt the outcome of a match. I'm sure it was an honest mistake, but maybe you learned that if you were more rational coming in to the dual, the MBA folks would be more rational now. See you at state.

I said earlier I dont think Irishdad would do this intentionally, but a lot of people are making a bigger deal because of his prior posts on CoachT. I understand it was a big match, huge for hiller and simpson who are both class acts and I hate seeing either wrestler lose, but I dont think its as big of a deal as everyone is making it. If Hiller had a questionable reversal like some are saying would he not be awarded an escape? I know that maybe a little momentum for the Big Red, but even if you give MBA a pin here what does it make it 44-22 is it that big of a difference? I know, it was a HUGE match between to great class act wrestlers, but win or lose for MBA it didnt have the slighest impact on the actual impact of the match. I am not trying to down play these two exciting wrestlers, but lets be honest about the match. For MBA to beat Ryan, Simpson is going to have beat Hiller later on in the post season!

Let's allow this to move on to a more amicable (friendly for those of you north of Clarksville) attitude.

I wasnt there, didnt see it, but what a match, from all reports here.

WHERE might they be going to school AFTER this high school life? Is William going the way of armed services or to blaze a different path? Jimmy is going to be quite a find for some coach. And BOTH are TN boys we get to follow for another few years. How cool could it be for them to find eachother again, a couple of years later at about 141 pounds, NCAA's, etc......you finish the story.

Tennessee is beginning to be noticed, without a doubt. Suddenly we expect things from our young men in the post high school arena. A huge thanks to all of them who do that and carry us with them.

Some of you are too young to realize yet, but when I travel, and meet with someone, they sometimes turn a phrase that could only be found in a wrestling room. Or I use one myself.

Instant bond. You're a member of the club. Everything is easier after that.

February is the best month of the year!

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
